Who we are
The Forum of Young Global Leaders is a newly formed, unique, multi-stakeholder community of the world’s most extraordinary leaders who are 40 years old or younger and who are ready to dedicate a part of their time and energy to jointly work towards a better future.
Each year we identify 200-300 exceptional individuals, drawn from every region in the world and from a myriad of disciplines and sectors. Together, they form a powerful international community which can dramatically impact the global future.
Young Global Leaders:
- are under 40 years old
- have substantial leadership experience
- have already clearly demonstrated a commitment to serving society
- are willing to devote their energy and expertise for five years to tackle the most critical issues facing the world
The Selection Committee, which is chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is composed of the world’s most eminent media leaders.
The Young Global Leaders will engage in the “2030 Initiative”, a comprehensive endeavour to jointly engage in defining a vision for a better future. The Young Global Leaders will then develop innovative global strategies that can be translated into decisions and actions necessary to be taken today. The 2030 Initiative will have high public visibility to foster increased awareness among decision-makers on key issues and commitment to engage in concrete action.
The Young Global Leaders have their own distinct autonomous governance structure but act in close cooperation with the World Economic Forum.
