Why do good people let bad things happen? - Initiative

| What is it? |
The initiative aims to raise awareness on genocide and genocide prevention. In 1948, the UN solemnly declared that “Never again!” would genocide be tolerated by the international community. Since then, it has become “ever again” in Cambodia, Rwanda and Darfur. Why has the international community failed to prevent these genocides? We propose a 60-90 minute documentary which will consist of a series of interviews with UN officials, politicians and “people on the street”.The style will be non-accusatory and reflectional. It will make clear that in the end genocide will only be prevented if we, the spectators, are willing to risk something by interfering. ![]() |
