Miao Yanliang

Chief Strategist; Executive Head, Research Department, China International Capital Corporation (CICC), People's Republic of China

Mr. Miao Yanliang joined CICC in March 2023. Before that he has served for 10 years at China State Administration of Foreign Exchange, including as its Chief Economist since May 2018. He joined in 2013 as Senior Advisor to the Administrator and then Head of Research. He helped formulate global macro views and built a top-notch research platform for the world’s largest reserve manager. As Chief Economist, he also advises the senior management of PBC/SAFE on a range of economic and policy issues. Before SAFE, he was an economist with the IMF where he worked on emerging markets and then the euro area crisis including as policy coordinator for the Portugal program. Before the IMF, he was visiting the Bank of Israel in 2007 as special assistant to the Governor and taught economics at the Woodrow Wilson School of Princeton University. Mr. Miao is an adjunct professor of Peking University’s National School of Development, a member of China Finance 40 Forum, a trustee of Shanghai University and an external member of the Academic Committee of China Development Bank. He publishes extensively on global macro and occasionally as a columnist for Project Syndicate. He holds a Ph.D., an M.A., an M.P.A., all from Princeton University, and an M.A. in economics from Fudan University.

Erwann Michel-Kerjan

Partner, McKinsey & Company, USA

Erwann is a world's authority on managing large-scale risks and designing and implementing concrete solutions to enhance resilience and financial protection. A French-American dual citizen, he is currently a Partner at McKinsey and Company (based in the US); global leader for risk in insurance.

Ambarish Mitra

Co-Founder, Greyparrot, United Kingdom

Ambarish Mitra is a serial entrepreneur and investor in AI, AR, Food tech and Genomics. Ambarish is the Founder of Blippar, a leading technology company specializing in augmented reality, artificial intelligence and computer vision. Under Mitra’s direction, Blippar has grown from a groundbreaking idea to an industry leader with offices in the UK, US and India and was listed 3 years in a row in CNBC’s list of most disruptive companies in the world.

Ambarish is also the co-Founder of Greyparrot, an AI / Deep Learning startup focused on waste management and recycling using computer vision to sort waste at scale and fulfil many of key SDGs- UN sustainable development goals. Ambarish started his tech career in 1997 as a high school drop-out teenager creating a web portal towards women empowerment.

With a vision to bridge the physical and digital worlds and give people more from the world they see through AR and Computer Vision, Ambarish has been widely recognized for his pioneering work in the field of Augmented Reality. Mitra was named by Ernst & Young as UK Entrepreneur of the Year for 2016, and was appointed as an Ambassador for the GREAT Britain campaign to promote British innovation around the world. Mitra was also recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2017. He was also announced at Technology Pioneer by WEF in 2021 for Greyparrot.

Nasreen Ali Mohamed

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Afrikapu Ltd, Kenya

Nasreen is a social tech-preneur passionate about technology and inclusion of low income households especially women and girls. She founded Afrikapu to give disadvantaged women and youth a voice through business growth and help them be ambassadors of advocacy issues affecting their communities.

Her zeal to alleviate poverty and give marginalized women a getaway to life-changing opportunities, led Nasreen to start Afrikapu to introduce real, tangible impact into the Global Handicraft industry and uplift the lives of underrepresented women and girls throughout Africa’s conservancies and informal sectors, a sector that makes up to 80% of Africa’s economy.

Pedro Moneo Lain

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Entrepreneur Capital S.L., Spain

Pedro is the CEO and founder of Opinno, an international open innovation network that connects entrepreneurs, investors and technology specialists across innovation hubs around the world to build new hi-tech startups. As background, Pedro holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a nuclear engineering degree from the French Atomic Energy Commission. Pedro began his career as a researcher in advanced reactors at Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago. He was also a consultant with the Corporate Finance and Strategy branch at Accenture. After, Pedro functioned as Director Deputy General of FEDIT Technology Centers of Spain, the largest private R&D Center network in the country, before founding Opinno in 2008. Concurrently, Pedro manages Opinno while simultaneously taking on the role as Publisher of MIT’s Technology Review, Spanish & Portuguese Editions, Publisher (Online) for Harvard Business Review in Spanish, acting as an angel investor through Entrepreneur Capital and a philanthropist through opinno.org. Pedro is also member of the Young Presidents Organization, an Eisenhower Innovation Fellow and the founder of the Spanish chapter of the XPrize Foundation.

Alisha Moopen

Alisha is the Executive Director of Aster DM Healthcare which is an integrated healthcare conglomerate of 30 years’ standing which spans 9 countries (UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, India, Philippines, and Jordan). Aster provides primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary care services, and now has more than 300 facilities. The Group employs more than 20,000 people, of which 2,000 are doctors and some 6,000 are paramedical and nursing staff. Michael Moradi-Araghi

Healthcare entrepreneur and investor, having founded several biotech companies, nanotech companies, and venture capital / PE funds. Current companies include Sensulin, which is developing a next-generation insulin for diabetes. Formerly: Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, an ocular pharmaceutical company and specialty Contract Research Organization (eyeCRO), which was the 264th fastest growing private company in the 2009 Inc. 500; co-founded Nanopolaris (now Unidym), which was acquired in 2011 by a publicly traded South Korean company for $145 million; co-founded NanoSource, which was acquired by DuPont in 2002, largely considered the first major acquisition in the nanotech space. 2017 Young Global Leader, World Economic Forum.

Stephan Morais

Managing General Partner, Indico Capital Partners, Portugal

Stephan Morais is the founder and Managing General Partner of Indico Capital Partners (www.indicocapital.com), a leading venture capital firm based Portugal. Indico focuses on software as a service, artificial intelligence, internet of things, fintech, cybersecurity, blockchain and blue economy companies, targeting investments at Pre-Seed to Series B level. Founded in 2017, the team at Indico were previously behind the majority of the Portuguese global tech success stories, as investors and entrepreneurs.

Stephan was formerly an Executive Board Member at Caixa Capital, the Private Equity and Venture Capital fund management company, where he led the most relevant international investment rounds of Portuguese technology companies. He has been a Non-Executive Director and Independent Board Advisor in numerous companies.

With a diversified background as an investment banker, consultant, entrepreneur and CEO, he has lived in 8 countries and 4 continents over the last 24 years. He is also a former Advisor to the European Commissioner of Science and Innovation, Past Chairman of the European Venture Finance Network and Past Board Member of the European Venture Capital and Private Equity Association and Board Member of the International Venture Club. He is an Entrepreneurship Expert with the Entrepreneurship Center at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and an Advisory Board Member at AMROP, Executive Search.

Appointed as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2010, and Member of their Digital Leaders of Europe Community, he holds a degree in Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon), and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
