Jens Spahn

Bank clerk and political scientist. 1995, joined the Young Union (youth section of the CDU/CSU); 1997, joined the CDU. 2002, first elected to the German Bundestag, representing the Steinfurt I/Borken I constituency, still representing it. Since 2005, Chairperson, Borken county branch of the CDU. 2009-15, served as Health Policy Spokesperson, CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag. 2012, Member, Federal Executive Committee of the CDU. 2014, elected to the party’s Presidium at the CDU’s federal conference in Cologne. July 2015 - March 2018, served as Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Finance. 14 March 2018 - 08 December 2021,n served as Federal Minister of Health. Since December 2021 deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of the CDU/CSU in the German Bundestag, Former Chairperson, German-Netherlands Parliamentary Friendship Group. Editor, "Ins Offene - Deutschland, Europa und die Flüchtlinge" (Into the Open – Germany, Europe and the Refugees - 2015). Co-Author, "App vom Arzt – Bessere Gesundheit durch digitale Medizin" (App your health – the benefits of digital medicine - 2016).

Mirjam Staub-Bisang

CEO, BlackRock Asset Management Switzerland AG, Switzerland

Dr. Mirjam Staub-Bisang is Head of BlackRock Switzerland, member of the EMEA Executive Committee and Senior Advisor to BlackRock Sustainable Investing. She currently serves as a non-executive director of the global shoe retailer Bata as well as the leading global business school INSEAD.

Prior to BlackRock, Mirjam Staub-Bisang co-founded and was formerly Managing Partner of Independent Capital Group AG an investment management firm focusing on sustainable investing based in Zurich. She served on the investment committees of pension funds and endowments and on the board of several several public and private companies, among which as chair of Profond Sammelstiftung, one of Switzerland’s leading multi-employer pension plans. Prior to these roles she held senior positions in asset management and private equity at Commerzbank and Swiss Life, Quadrant and was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch.

Mirjam Staub-Bisang holds a PhD in Law from the University of Zurich and an MBA from INSEAD. She authored the standard work “Sustainable Investing for Institutional Investors: Risks, Regulations, Strategies" (Wiley 2012) and co-authored the second edition of "Infrastructure as an Asset Class" (Wiley 2016). In 2009 she was elected a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.

Gunhild Anker Stordalen

Founder and Executive Chair, EAT, Norway

MD and PhD in Pathology/Orthopedic Surgery, University of Oslo. Founder and Chair, Stordalen Foundation. Founder & Executive Chair, EAT Foundation. Gunhild sits on several boards and advises on councils including the United Nation’s Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement Lead Group, the World Economic Forum (WEF) Stewardship Board on Food Systems, REQ Capital Advisory Board, the UNICEF’s Advisory Group, member of Africa Europe Women Leaders Network, and the international advisory board of the SRC. In addition, Gunhild is an ambassador for Friends of Ocean action, a member of the High-Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy (HLP) for the Blue Economy, A HELENA member, and a part of the International Leadership Committee for a Net Zero NHS.

In 2020, Gunhild was appointed to a a leading role at the UN Food Systems Summit 2021. She is the Chair of the Summit’s Action Track 2: Shifting to Healthy and Sustainable Consumption Patterns, with a wide mandate to build a broad, multistakeholder coalition around this key challenge and opportunity, and leveraging the EAT platform to the full.

Alexander Stubb

Formerly: 2004-08, Member of the European Parliament; 2008-11, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland; 2008-14, Minister of Foreign Affairs; 2014-15, Prime Minister of Finland; 2015-16, Minister of Finance; Adviser to the President of the European Commission; Visiting Professor, College of Europe, Bruges; Counsellor and Researcher, Permanent Representation of Finland to the European Union; Researcher, Academy of Finland and Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Since March 2011, Member of the Finnish Parliament. Since June 2011, Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade of Finland. Since August 2017, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank. Has participated in several EU intergovernmental conferences as Member of the Finnish government's delegation. Has published 11 books and numerous academic articles on the European Union; regular columnist for several papers.

Andrea Stürmer

Chief Executive Officer, Zurich Austria, Zurich Insurance, Austria

Andrea Stürmer is a senior executive at Zurich Insurance Group and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Zürich Versicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft in Vienna, Austria. She joined Zurich in 2007 and has since served as Chief Operating Officer for Business Insurance at the subsidiary Farmers Insurance Group and as the Strategic Assistant to the Zurich Group's Chief Executive Officer. She previously held various positions as finance and M&A professional at Zurich Insurance Group, Allianz and JPMorgan. Stürmer is Member of the Board of Zurich Reinsurance Company as well as of the Austrian Insurance Association. Stürmer is a sought-after public speaker on a wide range of topics including sustainability in the financial service sector, innovation and leadership. Stürmer holds a Master's degree from the London School of Economics as well as the Harvard Kennedy School. In 2012 she was nominated to the Forum of Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum.

Ludovic Subran

Chief Economist, Allianz, Germany

Ludovic Subran leads economic research at the largest insurer and investor in Europe. He has helped design public policies in over 30 countries and influences several organizations as a board member.

Paweł Surówka

Chief Executive Officer, Eurocash, Poland

Since 2022 he has been President of the Management Board of Eurocash Group, which is the leading Polish FMCG distributor. As Chief Executive Officer, PZU, a leading insurance company in Poland with operations in five countries, heads Central Eastern Europe's biggest financial group. Chairman, Pekao, Poland's second largest bank. Has led PZU to engage in an ambitious new strategy that aims to transform it into one of Europe's most innovative financial services companies with a strong accent on social responsibility. Having lived, studied and worked in Poland, Germany and France, personally committed to building stronger ties across Europe.

Christoph Sutter

Member of the Executive Board, Axpo Power Ltd, Switzerland

Christoph Sutter is an entrepreneur and intrapreneur in the field of sustainable development with a focus on renewable energy. He is a Member of the Management Board and Head Renewable Energies at Axpo Power AG. Before joining Axpo, he was the CEO of South Pole Group, a company he co-founded in 2006 and that is globally active in the area of climate change and renewable energy. Prior to that he worked as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company. He has done his PhD on the subject of sustainability assessment of energy projects at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.

Christoph Sutter is an investor and non-executive Board member of several companies in the field of sustainable development. He was named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the Schwab Foundation.

Jacek Szwajcowski

Chief Executive Officer, Pelion, Poland

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pelion S.A., a company with a 30-year history of operations in the healthcare sector. Graduate of Technical University of Lodz. As a part of postgraduate education completed courses at Harvard Kennedy School, George Mason University, Said Business School – University of Oxford and Jackson Institute for Global Affairs – Yale University. Member of the Supervisory Board of several companies, including listed company Pharmena S.A.. In addition to involvement in the further development of the company, Jacek engages in the Polish Business Roundtable, an organization associating owners and key manager of the largest Polish enterprises, and companies operating in Poland, serving as a President of the association until May 2019 and currently being its Member. Initiator of the "I care for my health" Foundation, whose statutory mission is to provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford to buy essential medicines. Currently the Foundation focuses mainly at Seniors support. As a passionate of the tradition of Polish pharmacy, he initiated the opening of a private Pharmacy Museum in Lodz. Publisher of series of monographs about the most famous Polish pharmacies.

Stacey Tank

Chief Corporate Affairs and Transformation Officer, Heineken International B.V., Netherlands

In addition to being the first woman and youngest executive to hold her position, Stacey Tank serves five non-profit boards, including those focused on environmental impact and the arts.

Rodrigo Tavares

Founder and President, Granito Group, Portugal

Founder and President of the Granito Group, an award-winning financial services organization specialized in the sustainable economy. The Group works alongside its clients on ESG strategic consulting, financial advisory (capital raising), and policy & research. It has collaborated with clients (financial institutions, governments, and regulators) in Europe, Latin America, and North America. Granito is currently working with a Middle Eastern government in the establishment of a “Global ESG Center of Excellence” and a US$5 billion Impact Facility. It operates from London and Sao Paulo. In 2022 it will open an office in Abu Dhabi.

Invited Chair Professor of Sustainable Finance at NOVA School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE), in Portugal.

He holds over 15 years of experience in government and international organizations working with foreign affairs and economic cooperation. In 2008-2010 he was invited by the UN Secretariat to write Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's annual reports on Africa's development. From 2011 to 2014 served as Head of the São Paulo State Government's Office of Foreign Affairs.

His academic path includes the universities of Harvard (Senior Research Fellow), Columbia (Research Fellow on a postdoc grant), Gothenburg (Ph.D.) and California, Berkeley (Visiting Research Fellow). Author of 4 books, including “Paradiplomacy: Cities and States as Global Players” (Oxford University Press).

He was nominated Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (2017), and StartUp Portugal Ambassador (2018). Columnist on ESG issues at Folha de S.Paulo (Brazil).

Anahita Thoms

Partner, International Trade Practice, Baker McKenzie, Germany

Anahita Thoms is an award-winning lawyer who focuses her practice on global investigations, in the field of international trade law, including sanctions, export controls, foreign investment review, data protection, business and human rights. She leads Baker McKenzie's International Trade Practice in Germany and is a Member of the firm's Europe, Middle East and African regional Steering Committee for the Compliance & Investigations Group. She is a regular speaker and moderator on diverse topics, such as trade, sustainability, ethics and AI. Anahita is committed to giving back to society and is passionate about human rights and the fight against modern slavery. She is the Co-Founder of the United Against Modern Slavery initiative.
