Leo Varadkar

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leader of Fine Gael, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment of Ireland, Ireland

Studied medicine at Trinity College Dublin and qualified as a General Practitioner. Former Member and Deputy Mayor of Fingal County Council. 2007, first elected to Dáil Eireann, Ireland (House of Representatives) as the TD (Member of the House of Representatives) for Dublin West. 2011-14, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport. 2014-16, Minister for Health. 2016-17, Minister for Social Protection. Since June 2017, Leader of the Fine Gael Party and Taoiseach. Youngest member of the Irish Government, the only gay member of the cabinet.

Harry (Huai) Wang

Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Linear Capital, People's Republic of China

Huai (Harry) Wang is a founding and managing partner of Linear Venture L.P. (Linear) and the Chairman of the Youth Group of China's Future Forum, a nonprofit organization founded by a group of influential scientists, entrepreneurs and investors in China in 2015. Its mission is to establish an interdisciplinary platform in the Greater China region to promote science, the ultimate driving force of human civilization, and scientists, the torchbearers who illuminate the path to the future. At Linear Ventures, Harry has led investments in more than 40 technology companies, including sector leading startups such as Horizon Robotics(www.horizon-robotics.com, US$300M), Rokid (rokid.com, US$650M), FraudMetrix(www.tongdun.cn, US$650M), SensorsData(www.sensorsdata.cn, US$50M), TaoData(www.taodatarobot.com, US$50M), SeetaTech (www.seetatech.com, US$60M), etc. He also served as a CEO advisor to Dianping.com(US$7B) and Baixing(US$700M). In 2013, Huai published his first book, How Facebook was Engineered, which became popular in the Internet startup community. He served as a Judge for Forbes China 30 under 30 in 2014 and 2013. Prior to founding Linear, Huai worked for Facebook in California as an engineering manager and joined Facebook in its early years (early 2007) when there were about 100 employees. Harry is the first Chinese citizen who took an engineering leadership role at Facebook. He earned his MS degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and his BS degree in Computer Science from Zhejiang Univerity. Harry serves as a member of the Council for the i-tech school in the Institute of Computing Technology Chinese Acadamy of Science. Harry is also a China Fellow at Aspen Institute and a permanent member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Wang Wen

Food Scientist, Nestlé R&D Centre Singapore, Singapore

Bioengineer, entrepreneur and designer. Research focuses on biointerface, involving interdisciplinary studies that combine the knowledge of biotechnology, advanced materials, and design. Vision is to fill the gap between research and real-world applications by enabling easy to access technology and more affordable products. Has been working on numerous research and commercial projects, for instance, producing therapeutic proteins and small molecule drugs with novel processes, making sustainable biofuel from waste, removing sulphur from diesel, and fabricating innovative healthcare/household products using biological living materials. Recent research focuses on innovative materials to enhance well-being, such as functional and shape-shifting food. Work has been recognized by the media (Washington Post, CNN, Discovery), academia (Science Advances, JACS, ACM-CHI), and the public (through exhibitions at Centre Pompidou, Ars Electronica).

Leana Wen

Professor of Health Policy and Management, George Washington University, USA

Dr. Leana Wen is an emergency physician and Visiting Professor of Health Policy and Management at the George Washington University School of Public Health. She is also a contributing columnist for The Washington Post, writing on health policy and public health. As an expert in pandemic preparedness and response, she has been a frequent guest commentator on the covid-19 crisis for CNN, MSNBC, BBC, and National Public Radio.

Previously, Dr. Wen was the Health Commissioner for the City of Baltimore, where she led the nation’s oldest continuously operating health department in the U.S. to fight the opioid epidemic, treat violence and racism as public health issues, and improve maternal and child health. She has also served as President/CEO of the Planned Parenthood, where she worked to reposition the organization as a mainstream healthcare entity that delivers comprehensive care for women and families; as Director of Patient-Centered Care Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine at George Washington University; and a consultant with the World Health Organization, Brookings Institution, and China Medical Board.

Dr. Wen earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine and her master’s degrees at the University of Oxford, where she was a Rhodes Scholar. She completed her residency training at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. The author of the dozens of scientific articles and the critically-acclaimed book, When Doctors Don’t Listen, she has given six TEDx and TEDMED talks.

She has received recognition as Modern Healthcare’s 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders and Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare; American Public Health Association’s highest award for local public health work; Governing’s Public Officials of the Year; and World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders. In 2019, Dr. Wen was named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People.

Hannah Yeoh

Member of Parliament, Segambut, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development of Malaysia, Malaysia

Hannah Yeoh is the Speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly and 2nd term State Assemblyman for Subang Jaya representing the Democratic Action Party (DAP). She was first elected into office in the historic elections of 2008 at the age of 29. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and was a practising lawyer in Australia and Malaysia before she ventured into politics. After securing re-election in the last elections in 2013, she was elected as Speaker, making her the first woman Speaker in Malaysia and currently its youngest. Hannah is married to Ramachandran Muniandy and they are parents to two beautiful girls, Shay Adora and Kayleigh Imani. Both Ram and Hannah are passionate about nation-building and seek to inspire Malaysians to play their respective parts in establishing a righteous nation free from corruption and racial discrimination.

Carol Yu Ying

Producer and Host, Phoenix Satellite Television Co. Ltd, Hong Kong SAR, China

World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. Producer and Host of weekly television interview show "Visionaries" with global thought leaders at Phoenix TV, one of the largest global Chinese TV networks. The show focuses on the future of technology, health, education and society to help people understand change and prepare for change. Past guests include Klaus Schwab, Muhammad Yunus, Henry Paulson, Larry Summers, Stephen Schwarzman, David Rubenstein, Stanford and Yale presidents, Niall Ferguson, Michael Phelps, Terry Gou, Morris Chang and many others. Formerly with the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley, Hong Kong and the World Bank office in Beijing. Extensive experience as a trilingual host/moderator for forums; regular columnist for several publications across mainland China and Hong Kong. Undergraduate degree in Economics at Stanford University and Master's in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Formerly: Venture Partner, Fenox Venture Capital; Founder and Chief Executive Officer of a medical device company focused on non-invasive technology for the early diagnosis of Type II diabetes (acquired in 2012). Speaker at tech events and conferences and also serves as a mentor and adviser to several tech innovation programmes in Silicon Valley. Member of the Board: Youth Council of Future Forum and Future Science Award. MSc in Materials Science and Engineering, Stanford University.
