Victoria Alonsoperez

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Chipsafer, Uruguay

Victoria Alonsoperez is an Electronics, Telecommunication, and Electrical Engineer, Entrepreneur, Inventor, United Nations Young Leader for the Sustainable Development Goals, and World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. She is also an International Chamber of Commerce Small Business Champion. In 2012 she invented Chipsafer, a patented platform that can track cattle remotely and autonomously. Thanks to Chipsafer in 2012 she was the winner of the International Telecommunication Union Young Innovators Competition and in 2013 she won the Best Young Inventor Award from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). In 2014 the Inter-American Development Bank selected Chipsafer as the Most Innovative Startup of Latin America and the Caribbean, and the MIT Technology Review selected Victoria as the Innovator of the Year - Argentina & Uruguay. In 2015 Chipsafer got second prize in Chivas Regal Global Competition The Venture and the BBC selected Victoria as one of the 30 female entrepreneurs under 30. In 2017 Victoria was invited to present Chipsafer at the Solutions Summit at United Nations Headquarters in New York during the UN General Assembly.
Outside of Chipsafer, her passion has always been space. She attended International Space University, where she co-designed a medical experiment for astronauts that won the Barcelona ZeroG Challenge, and then she served as the Space Engineering Department Teaching Associate. From 2014 to 2016, she served as Chair of Space Generation Advisory Council, a global NGO in support of the United Nations Programme on Space Applications, and she was co-managing editor of a small satellite programs book. From 2015 till 2017 she was part of the Board of the Space Foundation. In 2016, the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) awarded her the Young Space Leader Award and she served as Special Advisor to the IAF President from 2016 to 2018. Victoria also served as Digital Innovation Lead at Airbus and led the creation and development of AgNeo, the Airbus Agriculture Digital Platform

Mina Al-Oraibi

Editor-in-Chief, The National, United Arab Emirates

Editor-in-Chief of The National, a daily English language regional newspaper based in Abu Dhabi. An Iraqi-British journalist, has over 20 years of experience covering Middle Eastern, European and American affairs. Prior to assuming role at The National, was a Senior Fellow at the Institute for State Effectiveness (ISE) and a Yale World Fellow. At ISE, worked on developing policy recommendations for improved governance in the Arab world, with a focus on Iraq and Syria. 2011-15, Assistant Editor-in-Chief of Asharq Alawsat, the international Arab-language daily newspaper. Has written extensively on US and European policies in the Middle East, in addition to conducting several high-profile interviews, including with Iraqi President Barham Salih, US Climate Envoy John Kerry and UNHCR High Commissioner Filippo Grandi. Adviser to the Global Dignity Day Movement and a Trustee of the American University in Iraq - Sulaimani. Young Global Leader, World Economic Forum (2009). Member of the World Economic Forum’s International Media Council.

Suren Aloyan

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dasaran EdTech Company, Armenia

Suren is a social entrepreneur, the Founding President of Dasaran Ed-Tech Company, an Armenia-based software-as-a-service company providing innovative solutions in K12 education. In 2016 Dasaran was recognized as one of the best 5 innovative enterprises in the world by the UNDP. Suren brings more than 12 years of experience towards education system modernization through innovation and modern technologies, contributing to extensive data-driven policymaking, developing equal educational opportunities for all. Suren as a keynote speaker has delivered speeches for large auditoriums in different corners around the world – “Impact Investment and Innovation for SDGs” forum at the UN Headquarters in New York (USA), UNDP’s Social Good Summit in Switzerland, UNESCO MGIEP Conference in India, Global Education and Skills Forum in Dubai (UAE), RISE Tech conference in Hong Kong, World Bank’s Understanding Risk Forum in Mexico, UAE-Armenia Investment Forum in Abu Dhabi, et al. Suren has served as a chief expert in RA Ministry of Defence for 11 years and received Admiral Isakov Medal of Honour awarded on RA Level. Military rank is captain in reserve. Suren has received Golden Commemorative Medal, the Highest award of RA Ministry of Education Science, was honored with the High state award by the President of RA.

Elham Al Qasim

Chief Executive Officer, Digital14, United Arab Emirates

Elham Al Qasim serves as Digital14’s Chief Executive Officer, steering the organisation’s strategic direction, and leading over 1,000 staff in their purpose-driven work to deliver trust in digital so that clients can innovate and fulfil their potential. Prior to joining Digital14, Elham enjoyed a global career with executive roles in investment and asset management. More recently, Elham served as CEO of Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Executive Director of the Ghadan 21 programme at the Abu Dhabi Executive Office where she led the strategic planning for the government’s three-year, AED 50 billion investment programme aimed at accelerating Abu Dhabi’s economy. Prior to this, Elham was a Director of Mubadala Investment Company, focusing on Mubadala’s Technology and Industry portfolio. Her responsibilities included building investment/entry strategy, business development, value creation, and post-acquisition asset management in sectors including Metals & Mining, Semiconductors, and Technology. During this time, Elham also served on the executive leadership team of Emirates Global Aluminium and delivered a two year post merger integration program. Elham has served on a number of boards and is currently a Board Member of Amanat Holdings, AlAin Farms, and the Khalifa Fund, a government-owned SME Fund. Elham’s international career includes JPMorgan Investment Bank, where she was part of the Global Diversified Industrials Team based in London handling M&A transactions in chemicals, metals and mining, and infrastructure. Elham holds an MSc from the School of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Business from the American University in Dubai. In April 2010, Elham became the first Arab woman to ski to the North Pole.

Fahd Al-Rasheed

Chief Executive Officer, Royal Commission for Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia

President of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City following appointment as an Adviser to the Saudi Royal Court. Formerly, Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) for over a decade. Prior to that, Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA). Founder and Chairman of the non-profit Red Sea Foundation and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman College of Business and Entrepreneurship. Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Washington University; MBA from Stanford Business School.

Khaled Al Sabawi

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Open Screenplay, Canada

Khaled Al Sabawi is an award-winning Canadian serial-entrepreneur of Palestinian origin. Khaled is a recipient of the Young Alumni Achievement Medal from the University of Waterloo, one of Canada’s leading universities, and was featured on the cover of Forbes Middle East for his work in renewable energy and in expanding property rights in the West Bank.

Khaled is also the Founder & CEO of Open Screenplay, a first of its kind online platform that helps you write a compelling story and screenplay with the option of collaborating with storytellers from around the world. As founder and President of MENA Geothermal, a two-time recipient of Energy Globe Award, Khaled installed the largest geothermal system in the Middle East at the American University in Jordan. As CEO & Vice Chairman of Union Construction and Investment, one of the largest social-impact investors in Palestine, Khaled founded TABO, a project that expands property rights in the West Bank by creating title deeds and enables Palestinians the ability to own affordable land, and protects Palestinian land from illegal annexation.

In 2015 Khaled was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Khaled was named "One of the World's Top Energy Entrepreneurs" by Global Post and was ranked the 195th Most Influential Arab by Arabian Business Magazines. Khaled also received the Takreem Award for Young Entrepreneur.

Khaled is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s Computer Engineering Program, the Harvard John F. Kennedy School’s Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century Executive Education Program, and the Oxford Said Business School’s Leadership at the Edge Program.

Sarah Al Suhaimi

Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul), Saudi Arabia

Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Tadawul, the Saudi stock exchange, the largest stock market in the Middle East. With full support from the government, and under the framework of Vision 2030, leading comprehensive efforts to further integrate the Saudi capital markets into the global system, including changes to Tadawul’s operational activities, systems and regulations. Concurrently, Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of NCB Capital, the investment banking arm of the National Commercial Bank, Saudi Arabia’s largest bank. NCB Capital is the largest asset manager in the Middle East and the largest Sharia-compliant asset manager globally.

Alanoud Bint Hamad Al Thani

Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), Qatar

Alanoud bint Hamad Al-Thani is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Business Officer of Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority, where she plays an integral part in achieving QFC’s vision of transforming Doha into a leading global financial and commercial hub by attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) towards developing a sustainable local economy.

Previous to her current role, Alanoud was instrumental in driving the organization’s record growth over the past five years and sustaining growth even during the pandemic- increasing by almost 80% the number of firms registering on the platform in 2020.

Prior to joining QFC, Alanoud served as the Qatar Country Representative and Director for Silatech, a Qatar-based social initiative that connects young people to employment opportunities across the Arab region. Out of her deep belief in the need to support Arab youth empowerment, Alanoud greatly expanded Silatech’s operations within Qatar, helping to connect thousands of young people to private sector opportunities and supporting economic development across the Arab region. Her efforts here extend several positions with UN agencies and international organisations specialising in economic development, education, and youth employment.

A recipient of numerous honours and awards, including Young Arab Achiever in 2011 and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani Education Excellence Awards in 2008 and 2012, she was recently selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

A graduate of the London School of Economics, the University of Oxford, and HEC Paris, Alanoud has authored numerous reports in the area of private sector development and FDI.

Carlos Alvarado Quesada

Forty-eighth President of Costa Rica. Formerly Minister of Labour and social security during the presidency of Solís Rivera. At age 38 on the date of inauguration, became the youngest serving Costa Rican president since 1914.

Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi

Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, United Arab Emirates

H.E Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, was appointed as Minister of State for Foreign Trade in July 2020 to oversee the development of non-oil foreign trade and the expansion of global trade partnerships and increase Exports. In addition to supervising the portfolio of retaining and attracting the best talents and competencies serving the strategic orientation of the UAE, His Excellency also leads the efforts to enhance the UAE’s investment climate in order to achieve the country’s economic interests and strategic goals, thereby strengthening its position as a prime destination for business and investments at both regional and global levels.

Prior to his appointment as the Minister of State for Foreign Trade, H.E held the position of Minister of Climate Change and Environment and supervised the implementation of the country’s strategies at the domestic level, for environment and climate action, agricultural development, animal husbandry and fisheries, in addition to combating desertification and preserving biodiversity leading to enhance the sustainability of natural systems, food diversity and the transition to a green economy.
Through diverse Global participations, HE led the UAE’s efforts to mitigate and adapt to the repercussions of climate change, and protect the country's natural ecosystem by developing and implementing a set of effective policies and initiatives to achieve sustainable development at both regional and international levels and by strengthening existing and new partnerships with the government and private sectors that are capable of increasing the contribution of environment, agricultural, livestock and fisheries sectors to ensuring food security and biosafety in the country as well as increasing the quality of national production.

Previously and after he served as the Director of the Department of Energy and Climate Change at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E Al Zeyoudi was appointed as the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) as extraordinary Ambassador.

Minister Al Zeyoudi started his career as an oil engineer at the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), and then moved to Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), where he worked on the development of renewable and clean energy technologies and solutions, and also played a key role in the success of the UAE’s 2009 campaign to host the headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in the capital City, Abu Dhabi.
In 2020, HE. was chosen by the Davos World Economic Forum to become a member of the Young Global Leadership Council affiliated with the Forum, recognizing his outstanding international efforts in the field of environment and climate. In 2015, Dr. Al Zeyoudi received the first award for Excellence from the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in recognition of his pioneering efforts in the field of renewable energy.

H.E Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi holds a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa, an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology, an MBA in Project Management from the British University in Dubai, and a PhD in Strategy, Program and Project Management from Skema Business School in France.
