Farzana Yaqoob is a former minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and a founding director and Chief Executive and founding member of MANTAQ Center for Research. Appier has raised 30 million USD in total funding and is the first investment Sequoia Capital made in Southeastern Asia.

Prior to Appier, Yu has authored dozens of research articles in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and machine learning, and has been awarded two US patents.
