Mr. Miao Yanliang joined CICC in March 2023. Before that he has served for 10 years at China State Administration of Foreign Exchange, including as its Chief Economist since May 2018. He joined in 2013 as Senior Advisor to the Administrator and then Head of Research. He helped formulate global macro views and built a top-notch research platform for the world’s largest reserve manager. As Chief Economist, he also advises the senior management of PBC/SAFE on a range of economic and policy issues. Before SAFE, he was an economist with the IMF where he worked on emerging markets and then the euro area crisis including as policy coordinator for the Portugal program. Before the IMF, he was visiting the Bank of Israel in 2007 as special assistant to the Governor and taught economics at the Woodrow Wilson School of Princeton University. Mr. Miao is an adjunct professor of Peking University’s National School of Development, a member of China Finance 40 Forum, a trustee of Shanghai University and an external member of the Academic Committee of China Development Bank. He publishes extensively on global macro and occasionally as a columnist for Project Syndicate. He holds a Ph.D., an M.A., an M.P.A., all from Princeton University, and an M.A. in economics from Fudan University.

Denis Minev is CEO of Bemol, a top retailer in northern Brazil. He is also a Co-Founder and Member of the Board of Fundação Amazonas Sustentável, an NGO that promotes development and conservation in poor communities of the Brazilian Amazon. In 2012, he was nominated a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Between 2007 and 2009, Minev served as State Secretary for Planning and Economic Development of Amazonas and was previously an analyst at Goldman Sachs. Mohamed Faizal Mohamed Abdul Kadir is a Legal Service Officer who presently serves as Second Chief Prosecutor at the Attorney-General’s Chambers. He holds adjunct teaching positions in various institutions and was General Editor of “Criminal Procedure Code of Singapore: Annotations and Commentary”. He is a keen advocate of education-related initiatives who has received the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Award for his work in developing educational scholarships for lower-income students. He is a member of the MUIS Appeal Board, and has also served on numerous high-level committees, including the Committee on University Education Pathways Beyond 2015 and the Eldershield Review Committee. He was recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2016 and was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2014. A graduate from the National University of Singapore and Harvard Law School, Faizal was appointed Senior Counsel in 2020.

Hamdullah Mohib most recently served as the National Security Adviser to the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Mohib previously served as the Afghan Ambassador to the United States. He also served as non-resident Ambassador to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, and Columbia.

Before being appointed Ambassador, Dr. Mohib served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Dr. Mohib has been an active leader in civil society among the global Afghan community. As an undergraduate at Brunel University, he founded the largest Afghan diaspora youth association in Europe, the Afghan Students Association of the UK. While completing a PhD in Computer Engineering at Brunel University, he founded and served as Chairman of the Board for the Afghan Professionals Network (APN). As part of APN, he started a think-tank “Discourse Afghanistan”, and initiated community service programming to support special needs orphans in Kabul, and to recognize achievements of Afghan women. Dr. Mohib is fluent in English, Pashto, and Dari, with proficiency in Urdu/Hindi.
