Kamissa Camara

Senior Adviser, Africa, United States Institute of Peace (USIP), USA

Ambassador Kamissa Camara serves as a Professor of Practice in International Diplomacy at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, University of Michigan. In her role, she brings real-world experience to the theoretical underpinnings of international diplomacy studies. Parallel to this, she contributes her expertise as a Senior Africa Advisor at the United States Institute of Peace and as a Non-Resident Scholar at the Middle East Institute.

Ambassador Camara has held strategic roles within the Malian government. She notably served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as Chief of Staff to the President of Mali. These high-profile positions cemented her status as a leading authority on African politics and international relations.

Beyond academia and public service, Ambassador Camara is an influential voice in global media circles and contributes to CNN, Aljazeera and BBC, among others, on African and global politics. Ambassador Camara is finalizing her doctoral studies in political science at the University of Oxford, underscoring her commitment to blending academic rigor with practical diplomacy.

Niko Canner

Initiated and co-leads China 2024, a 20-year longitudinal study of the development of business leaders in China. Recent publications include “Beyond the Holacracy Hype”, Harvard Business Review. Named one of ten new gurus, Fortune magazine; featured as a rising star, Fortune 40 Under 40 (2009); named as one of the top twenty five in the consulting profession, Consulting Magazine (2010).

Lisa Caputo

Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing, Communications and Customer Experience Officer, The Travelers Companies Inc., USA

Lisa Caputo is the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing, Communications, and Customer Experience Officer for The Travelers Companies, Inc. She joined Travelers on June 1, 2011. Previously, she served as the President and CEO of Women and Co., a subsidiary of Citigroup, offering financial services for women. In addition to running Women and Company, she was Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Citi. Prior to that, she was also Managing Director, Business Operations and Planning, of Citigroup’s Global Consumer Group. Before joining Citigroup, Caputo was a senior communications executive at the CBS Corporation and at the Walt Disney Company. She was also a contributing editor to George magazine, as well as an NBC and MSNBC political analyst, and has served as a co-host for CNN’s “Crossfire”, and CNBC/MSNBC’s “Equal Time”. Prior to embarking on a career in business, she served as the Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States and Press Secretary to the First Lady in the White House from 1993-1996. A recipient of numerous awards, Caputo is also involved in a number of philanthropic activities and serves as a Board member of several organizations. Lisa is a graduate of Brown University (with a BA magna cum laude in Political Science and French) and of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism (MSJ, with the highest distinction).

Adriana Cargill

Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Wave Maker Media, USA

Adriana Cargill is an independent public radio journalist based in Los Angeles. She’s reported and produced stories for KCRW, Southern California Public Radio (KPCC), Marketplace, LAist, Latino USA, Crooked Media, Wondery, KUSC Radio, VICE News and more. She graduated with a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism as a Bloomberg Scholar. She is also a fifth-generation Cargill family member. Founded in 1865, Cargill Inc. is a privately held agribusiness with over 155,000 employees in 70 countries around the world. By revenue, Cargill consistently ranks as one of the largest private companies in the U.S and in the top tier globally. Adriana has worked to support employees during the COVID crisis and advocated for the company to do business in a sustainable and more equitable way. Adriana is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Family Business Community and its Next Gen Working Group. She is also a member of The ImPact, a global membership community of families committed to aligning their assets with their values.

Luis Felipe Carrillo

SVP & Market Head Latam South (Peru-based), Ecolab, USA

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Simon Bolivar University, Caracas; MBA; Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Perú and Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands; executive courses, Harvard Business School. 2000, joined GE; currently, President and Chief Executive Officer, Central Latin America focus is to develop the region’s infrastructure in power generation & transmission, oil and gas, healthcare and aviation; leading efforts to localize more capabilities, integrate acquisitions and develop new markets; also leading the transformation to make GE the premier digital industrial company in the region. Young Global Leader, World Economic Forum (2015).

Wences Casares

Chief Executive Officer, Xapo Holdings Limited, USA

Wences Casares is a technology entrepreneur with global business experience specializing in technology and financial ventures. He is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lemon Wallet. Casares launched Argentina's first Internet service provider, Internet Argentina in 1994, a company he would go on to sell in order to found the Argentine online brokerage Patagon in 1997. With Casares serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Patagon established itself as Latin America's first comprehensive Internet financial services portal and expanded its online banking services to the US, Spain and Germany. Patagon was acquired by Spanish bank Banco Santander for US$ 750 million in 2000. Casares is also the founder of Wanako Games, a videogame developer that produced the award-winning game Assault Heroes, which was honoured as “Game of the Year” for Microsoft Xbox Live in 2006; the company was acquired by Activision. In 2002, he founded Banco Lemon, a retail bank for the underbanked in Brazil. Banco do Brasil, Brazil's largest bank, acquired Banco Lemon in June 2009.

Valerie Casey

Chief Design Officer, Walmart, USA

Valerie Casey is SVP and Chief Product Officer at Walmart, where she leads teams building digital and store experiences for customers and employees. Previously Casey was Chief Product Officer for Samsung NEXT, and an executive leader at world-renowned design studios IDEO, frog design, and Pentagram. She is the founder of the Designers Accord, the global community of creatives, business leaders, and educators working together on social impact. Casey is a frequent author, moderator, and speaker on design, open innovation, and entrepreneurship. She is a Fellow at the Aspen Institute and a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum. She was named: Guru of the Year, Fortune magazine; Hero of the Environment, Time magazine; Master of Design, Fast Company; one of the World's Most Influential Designers, Businessweek. Casey holds a BA from Swarthmore College and an MED from Yale.

Navin Chaddha

Managing Director, Mayfield, USA

Navin Chaddha, Managing Director, leads Mayfield, a top-tier early-stage venture capital firm with over $3 billion under management. The Firm invests primarily in early-stage technology and bio companies. Since its founding in 1969, the Firm has invested in over 550 innovative companies, 120 of which have gone public and over 225 have been acquired.
Navin has been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and has ranked on the Forbes Midas List of Top 100 Tech Investors 15 times, including being named top 5 in 2020, 2022, and 2023. During his venture capital career, Navin has invested in over 60 companies, of which 18 have gone public and 27 have been acquired. Navin’s investments have created over $120 billion in equity value and over 40,000 jobs.
As an entrepreneur, Navin has co-founded three startups including VXtreme (acquired by Microsoft) to become Windows Media; Rivio/CPA.com, and iBeam Broadcasting (IPO). Navin holds an M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University and a B. Tech degree in electrical engineering from IIT Delhi, where he was honored with the distinguished IIT Alumni Award. He is an active philanthropist who supports education, diversity, equity, inclusion, and food scarcity groups.

François-Philippe Champagne

Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, Canada

The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne was first elected in 2015 as the Member of Parliament for Saint-Maurice—Champlain.

Minister Champagne is a businessman, lawyer, and international trade specialist with over 20 years’ experience at large international companies in Europe, particularly in the fields of energy, engineering, and innovation.

Before entering politics, Minister Champagne was Vice-President and Senior Counsel of ABB Group, a leader in cutting-edge technology that operates in more than 100 countries. He also served as Strategic Development Director, acting General Counsel, and Chief Ethics Officer and Member of the Group Management Committee of AMEC Foster Wheeler, a world leader in the energy sector.

In 2009, Minister Champagne was named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He has served on several boards over the years, and was notably President of the Canadian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and the Banff Forum.

After his election in 2015, Minister Champagne served as a parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Finance until 2017, when he was appointed Minister of International Trade. During his time as Minister of International Trade, the Canada–European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement entered into force, and Canada signed the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership. In 2018, he was named Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and oversaw the federal government’s ambitious $187 billion infrastructure investment plan. He was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2019.

Minister Champagne holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Université de Montréal and a Master of Laws in American law from Case Western Reserve University. Minister Champagne also studied public and private international law at The Hague Academy of International Law, in the Netherlands.

Arvan Chan

Chairman of the Board, Vivent Health, USA

Arvan Chan is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum and Board Chair of Vivent Health. He has over 20 years of experience in strategic investments and finance, including his major role in working with CEOs and other C-suite executives on strategic planning, digital transformation, and international expansion. Most recently, as an officer of the company, Arvan served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of International for Centene Corporation, a Fortune 25 company that partners with local governments to ensure people receive the highest quality of health and social care through government-sponsored programs. Throughout his tenure at Centene, he held roles in a variety of disciplines, including corporate development, international M&A, strategy, enterprise project management, performance & strategic finance, and international operations. Arvan actively holds Board positions for several public, private and not-for-profits. Internationally, he continues serving on multiple global task forces as a repeated speaker and a discussion leader. Arvan received his bachelor's degree in biological science from University of California of Los Angeles (UCLA), a Master of Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, and a Master of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis Olin Business School with expertise in entrepreneurship, finance, and strategy.

Sandeep Chatterjee

Managing Director, theLitVentures, USA

Dr. Sandeep Chatterjee is the CEO of a group of diversified, multi-national enterprises that focus on areas critical for the 21st Century, including: innovation and intellectual property rights; intellectual property and commercial litigation; mobile and Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies; and, education focused on innovation and the future of jobs.

He earned a BSc in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a MSc and PhD in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His PhD dissertation at MIT was selected as one of the most important inventions in computing, and the invention is preserved and showcased in a time capsule at the Boston Museum of Science. Other recipients of this honor include Bill Gates (Founder of Microsoft) and Tim Berners-Lee (inventor of the World Wide Web).

He developed one of the first mobile banking solutions, and his technology was identified as a Bloomberg Innovation, and featured on Bloomberg TV’s “Bloomberg Innovators” program. He was a member of the JSR 172 Expert Group that defined the worldwide standard for J2ME mobile Web services.

He also has extensive experience with providing expert testimony for intellectual property and commercial litigation, including for high stakes patent litigation, copyright and trade secret misappropriation, contract disputes and licensing cases. He is regularly retained by the largest law firms and the largest companies in the world for multi-billion dollar litigation.

He has co-authored books on technology and mobile systems innovation that is used by universities around the world. The Government of India, through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), has identified him as an international expert on mobile and digital forensics technologies. The Government of Andra Pradesh has appointed him as the Dean for the Center of Mobile Excellence at the government’s International Institute for Digital Technologies (IIDT).

Sarah Chen-Spellings

Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Beyond The Billion (launched as The Billion Dollar Fund for Women), USA

Based in Washington DC, award-winning investor & entrepreneur Sarah Chen is Co-Founder of Beyond The Billion (launched as The Billion Dollar Fund for Women), the world's first and largest global consortium of over 100 venture funds and limited partner investors that have pledged to invest beyond $1B towards women-founded companies. To date, the consortium has deployed $638M and counting into close to 800 female-founded companies, of which 14 were recognized as unicorns. Previously, she was on the pioneer team of a corporate venture capital unit within a $13B publicly traded Asian conglomerate, investing in later-stage biotechnology companies. Since then, she has been at the forefront of multi-million cross border investments, structuring and executing commercialization plans with her portfolio companies.

Determined to see more women at the helm, she sits on multiple boards, including 131 & Counting, a bipartisan effort to fete the unprecedented number of women serving in the House and Senate, encouraging more women to run for office in the US; and Lean In Malaysia, which she co-founded, a platform accelerating women into leadership in Muslim- majority Malaysia. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Laws, LL.B (Hons.) from King’s College London.
