Ali Adnan Ibrahim

Adviser, Sustainability and Competitiveness, KSA Center of Government, Saudi Arabia

Dr. Ali Ibrahim currently serves as a Sustainability & Competitiveness Advisor at at the KSA Center of Government. He has led work on establishing think tanks focusing on the social sector, urban futures, foresight research and impact. His work centers on strategic environmental and social impacts issues, with a special focus on the role of technology.

In the finance sector, Dr. Ibrahim has held the position of Global Head of Social and Sustainable Finance at a major financial institution. His leadership roles have included Chairmanship of the Sustainable Development Committee at the Bahrain Association of Banks and Co-Chairmanship of the Sustainability Working Group at the global Islamic finance industry body, CIBAFI. Additionally, he was the founding chairman of the Global Islamic and Sustainable FinTech Center at Bahrain Fintech Bay. He has been a member of various industry groups including the Consultative Group of the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets, and the Sustainable Finance Working Group of the Institute of International Finance. He is also part of various communities of the World Economic Forum including the Young Global Leaders, Executive Working Group on Financing, and Social Innovation.

Dr. Ibrahim's academic credentials include a Doctorate in Juridical Sciences (SJD—with distinction) from Georgetown University and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Washington University in St. Louis. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Honours) from International Islamic University, Islamabad. His executive education includes programs at Harvard University, Oxford University, Cambridge University, Stanford University, and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, covering transformational leadership, sustainability, circular economy, and Artificial Intelligence.

Nadia Ahmad Samdin

Counsel and Associate Director, Member of Parliament, Tri-Sector Associates, Singapore

Nadia Ahmad Samdin is the youngest member of Singapore’s 14th Parliament, representing Ang Mo Kio GRC. She speaks on various environmental and social issues, such as nature and marine conservation, mental health, public housing, youth empowerment and gender equity. She has 18 years of experience in community development and currently serves on various boards and committees, including SHE, a non-profit that strives to empower women and girls through public-private partnerships and tackles online harms. As Counsel and Associate Director at social impact intermediary Tri-Sector Associates, she contributes her expertise to innovative outcomes-based social financing models and catalytic capital. Notably, she has structured and launched a project supporting employment transitions for individuals with differentiated abilities, developed a social impact guarantee for a youth skilling programme and implemented an outcomes amplifier model for income stability in lower-income households. Samdin has co-authored articles in the Stanford Social Innovation Review, where she shares practice-led insights. She is an Adjunct Fellow with the NUS Centre for Pro Bono & Clinical Legal Education, and was recognized on the 2020 Straits Times 30 and Under Singaporeans to Watch list, Singapore Business Review’s 21 Most Influential Lawyers 40 and Under, as well as 2021 Prestige 40 Under 40. Previously, Samdin practised corporate law, specializing in mergers & acquisitions, and was a current affairs producer with regional news channel, Channel NewsAsia.

Faisal Alibrahim

Faisal F. Alibrahim is the Minister of Economy and Planning of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Alibrahim is also the Supervisor of the Secretariat of the Council of Economic and Development
Affairs (CEDA) and a member of the council. His Excellency also chairs the Board of Directors of
the General Authority for Statistics.

Alibrahim is a member of several governmental committees such as the Finance Committee, the
Strategic Management Committee, the CEDA Standing Committee, the Supreme National
Investment Council, the Supreme National Council for Industry, the Supreme Transportation and
Logistics Committee, the Large Companies Investment Committee, the National Incentives
Committee, the Privatization Program Committee, the Financial Sector Development Program
Committee, and the National Transformation Program Committee. HE also serves on several
boards including the Public Investment Fund, National Development Fund, the Royal Commission
for Riyadh City, the General Organization for Social Insurance, the Local Content and Government
Procurement Authority, the National Center for Performance Management, and the Cultural
Development Fund. His Excellency served as secretary/second secretary of the Aramco IPO
Committees. He was also chairman of the Executive Committee and member of the Supervisory
Committee for the Kingdom’s participation in EXPO 2020 Dubai which has received multiple
awards and recognitions.

Previously, Alibrahim served as Vice Minister of Economy and Planning and prior to that held key
positions at Saudi Aramco including head of mergers and acquisitions, project manager of King
Salman International Complex for Maritime Services and Industries, project manager for the Vela-
Bahri merger, the largest transaction in Saudi at that time, and Vice President of Aramco
Development Company.

Alibrahim holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology, a bachelor’s degree in economics, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and a Minor in
Management Information Systems from the Pennsylvania State University. HE is a World Economic
Forum Young Global Leader and member of the UCLA Health International Advisory Board.

Shaikh Mohammed Bin Essa Al Khalifa

Razan Al Mubarak

United Nations Climate Change High-Level Champion, Climate Champions, United Arab Emirates

Her Excellency Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak is a United Arab Emirates native who for more than twenty years has supported her country’s efforts to realise a more sustainable future while spearheading progressive environmental protection, species conservation, and global climate action. She was elected President of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the global authority on the status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard it, in September 2021. She is the second woman to lead the organization in its 75-year history and its first president from West Asia. Her Excellency Razan Al Mubarak serves as UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for the leadership team of COP28 Presidency, which will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30 to December 12, 2023.
Her diverse experience leading the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, the largest environmental regulatory agency in the Middle East, the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund, an international philanthropic organization supporting species conservation projects worldwide, and Emirates Nature – WWF, an Emirates-based NGO focused on citizen engagement, earned her recognition as one of the top 100 Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum in 2018. She also serves as the Co-Chair of Champions for Nature Community by the World Economic Forum from 2023 – 2024.

Fahd Al-Rasheed

His Excellency Fahd Abdulmohsan Al-Rasheed was appointed by Royal Decree as Advisor in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on April 2nd, 2023. HE Al-Rasheed also chairs the Saudi Conventions and Exhibitions General Authority and represents the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a lead on the Urban 20 (since 2020).

HE Al-Rasheed’s Board Memberships include the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman College, King Faisal Specialized Hospital & Research Center, New Murabba Development Company, Diriyah Gate Company Limited, Soudah Development Company, Qiddiya Investment Company, King Saud University and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. HE Al-Rasheed was previously the CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), the authority responsible for the capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he oversaw Riyadh’s ambitious plans to become one of the world’s leading city economies and a regional hub for investment, tourism, and livability by 2030. Prior to that, HE Al-Rasheed was Group CEO of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).

HE Al-Rasheed holds a Bachelor's degree in Business from Washington University in St-Louis and an MBA from Stanford University.

Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi

Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, United Arab Emirates

His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi is the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Minister in charge of Talent Attraction and Retention. As Minister, he is responsible for leading the development and expansion of the country’s non-oil foreign trade, enhancing national polices and measures to promote foreign direct investment in the UAE, and implementing initiatives to attract and retain strategic global talent in the UAE.

H.E. Dr. Al Zeyoudi is also the former Minister of Climate Change and Environment for the UAE, where he was instrumental in elevating the UAE’s global presence and contributions in climate mitigation and adaptation. Over the course of H.E. Dr. Al Zeyoudi’s career, he has led and contributed to shaping international policy and legal frameworks in areas including energy, environment, and sustainable development. H.E. Dr. Al Zeyoudi’s considerable expertise, dynamic leadership, and track record for driving the formation of global alliances have been fundamental to his success in delivering on his various mandates and in furthering the UAE’s efforts on economic growth and diversification.

In 2020, H.E. was Dr. Al Zeyoudi was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader for his outstanding international efforts in the field of environment and climate. H.E. Dr. Al Zeyoudi holds a B.S. in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa, two Masters degrees from the New York Institute of Technology and the British University in Dubai, and completed his PhD at the Skema Business School in France.

Daniel Arrigg Koh

Deputy Cabinet Secretary, The White House, USA

Daniel Arrigg Koh is a public servant dedicated to positive social change.

He currently serves as the White House Deputy Cabinet Secretary, where he helps guide the affairs related to the Cabinet of United States President Joseph R. Biden. Immediately prior, Dan served as the Chief of Staff of the United States Department of Labor, a $14 billion, 17,000 employee organization dedicated to improving the lives of America's 150 million workers. He helped lead the development of the Healthcare Emergency Temporary Standard that protects millions of healthcare workers around the country from COVID-19.

Before his service in the Biden-Harris administration, Dan served as Chief Operating Officer of HqO, a technology company focused on changing the way we interact with physical space. In this capacity, he helped grow the company from 30 employees to over 150 across multiple financing rounds, leading to a $500 million valuation.

In 2019, Dan was elected to the Town of Andover Select Board where he served as Vice Chair. Previously, he was a candidate for the Massachusetts Third District of the United States Congress, where he ran a true grassroots campaign with thousands of volunteers knocking hundreds of thousands of doors, coming within 0.2% of the Democratic primary nomination after a district-wide recount.

From 2014-2017, Dan served as Chief of Staff to Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, guiding his agenda for the city, its 18,000 employees, $3 billion budget, and 700,000 residents. In this role, he pioneered “CityScore,” an award-winning performance management system for improving city services.

Dan previously worked as Chief of Staff to Arianna Huffington at The Huffington Post and Advisor to Mayor Thomas M. Menino of Boston. He has served additional roles at Booz Allen Hamilton, Spencer Stuart, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Major League Baseball, and the New England Patriots. He began his career as an intern for the late Massachusetts Senator Edward M. Kennedy.

He has been named to the “30 under 30” list by Forbes Magazine and the “40 under 40” list by the Boston Business Journal. In 2016, he received an honorable mention from The Boston Globe for “Bostonian of the Year.” A native of Andover, Massachusetts, Dan holds a B.A from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was President of his section. Dan is an avid runner, having completed 62 marathons across the U.S. and Canada.

Ida Auken

Member of Parliament, Parliament of Denmark (Folketinget), Denmark

Ida Auken is the former Minister for the Environment in Denmark (2011-2014). She is a Member of the Danish Parliament (2007-) for The Social Democratic Party. Ida Auken held the position of President of the European Environment Council and was Head of the EU Delegation at the Rio+20 conference, where the UN Sustainable Development Goals were agreed. Ida Auken was nominated a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and has also been elected as one of the 40 most promising young leaders in Europe. With her 15 years of experience in the Danish Parliament, Ida Auken has been key in fostering the green transition in Denmark. She was one of the architects of the Danish Climate Law that has one of the world’s most ambitious climate change targets and recently she introduced the paradigm shift in the approach to offshore wind by establishing energy islands. Ida Auken is the author of several books and in May 2022 “Believe it – climate, hope and vigour” was published.
