Joseph Adelegan

Secretary-General, International Rubber Study Group, Singapore

Professor Adelegan is the Secretary-General of the International Rubber Study Group (ISG) based in Singapore, the biggest worldwide community in the Rubber Industry. He is a C-Suite Executive and an international development expert, a Professor of Practice of Environmental Science and Engineering and a practitioner-scholar in management with over three decades of distinguished professional trajectory across 20 African Countries, Europe and United States. His work experience spans several organizations including the United Nations, development finance institutions, international organizations, government, non-governmental organizations, education, innovation and research institutions among others.

He has extensive experience in the sustainable investment, disruptive innovation and circular economy of the elastomer products. He has held Senior Roles at the United Nations as the Team Lead for the Global Circular Economy Program of the United Nations Technology Innovation Lab at the first European Lab in Finland and as a Senior Advisor at the United Nations Office of Project Services in Denmark.

Professor Adelegan was the Division Chief at the Office of the Vice President of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development, an International Development Financial Institution established by ECOWAS Treaty and covering 15 ECOWAS Countries. He was a representative of Africa and the Middle East at the Climate Investment Trust Fund at the World Bank, Washington DC, United States. His portfolios has included programs and projects funded by the European Union, World Bank, Green Climate Fund, Climate Investment Fund, African Development Bank, ECOWAS, African Union, NEPAD Agency, Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), Australian Aid, several United Nations agencies and funds among others.

Professor Adelegan have held several board appointments, created strategic partnerships and mobilized resources from development agencies, development finance institutions and several donor agencies. He was a Member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council, Geneva, Switzerland and Non-Executive Director of the European Sustainable Development Organization among others.

He was a Professor of Environmental Science and Engineering at Universities in Africa, Europe and North America. He was a Professor of the Practice of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Venda, South Africa. He is a Visiting Professor of Water and Energy Engineering at the Pan African University, Institute of Water and Energy Sciences (including Climate Change), Tlemcen, Algeria established by the African Union. He was a Visiting Professor of Environmental Management at the Commonwealth University, London, United Kingdom. He is a Professor of Environmental Leadership at the Missional University, North Augusta, South Carolina, United States.

Professor Adelegan is a recipient of several global awards including: 2006 Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, Geneva, Switzerland; recognition in 2007 as an Inventor Social Entrepreneur and Ashoka-Lemelson Fellow by the Ashoka Innovators for the Public and the Lemelson Foundation based in United States; 2009 Technology Pioneer of the World Economic Forum, Geneva, Switzerland; 2009 Technology Award Laureate and Prize Recipient of the Technology Museum of Innovation, San Jose, California, United States; 2010 Member of the Crans Montana Forum of New Leaders of Tomorrow, Geneva, Switzerland and 2010 Member of the Clinton Global Initiative, New York, United States among others.

He is in high demand as a regular speaker at international conferences in Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, North America and Australia. He has made appearance in CNN as 2008 Principal Voices on the “Economics of Energy” by CNN in association with Shell, Times and Fortune Magazine. He has travelled to over 120 countries in this regard. He has written over 30 publications on several topical issues.

Professor Adelegan earned Two Doctorate Degrees. He earned a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Degree from the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, United States. He also gained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Nigerian Premier University of Ibadan. He is an alumnus of a number of executive programs including the United Nations University, Tokyo, Japan; the University of California, Berkeley, United States; Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California, United States; John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Harvard Business School, Harvard University, United States among others.

Nadia Ahmad Samdin

Counsel and Associate Director, Member of Parliament, Tri-Sector Associates, Singapore

Nadia Ahmad Samdin is the youngest member of Singapore’s 14th Parliament, representing Ang Mo Kio GRC. She speaks on various environmental and social issues, such as nature and marine conservation, mental health, public housing, youth empowerment and gender equity. She has 18 years of experience in community development and currently serves on various boards and committees, including SHE, a non-profit that strives to empower women and girls through public-private partnerships and tackles online harms. As Counsel and Associate Director at social impact intermediary Tri-Sector Associates, she contributes her expertise to innovative outcomes-based social financing models and catalytic capital. Notably, she has structured and launched a project supporting employment transitions for individuals with differentiated abilities, developed a social impact guarantee for a youth skilling programme and implemented an outcomes amplifier model for income stability in lower-income households. Samdin has co-authored articles in the Stanford Social Innovation Review, where she shares practice-led insights. She is an Adjunct Fellow with the NUS Centre for Pro Bono & Clinical Legal Education, and was recognized on the 2020 Straits Times 30 and Under Singaporeans to Watch list, Singapore Business Review’s 21 Most Influential Lawyers 40 and Under, as well as 2021 Prestige 40 Under 40. Previously, Samdin practised corporate law, specializing in mergers & acquisitions, and was a current affairs producer with regional news channel, Channel NewsAsia.

Tunku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz

Chairman and Founding Trustee, Teach For Malaysia, Malaysia

Tunku Ali works across the private, public, and non-profit sectors in Malaysia. He sits on the Council of Law and Justice of the State of Negeri Sembilan, and is a Brigadier General and Commander of the Territorial Army Regiment of Negeri Sembilan.

He is a Senior Advisor to TPG Capital a global Private Equity firm, representing TPG as Chairman/Director across several portfolio company boards in the education and healthcare sectors in Southeast Asia. Separately, he is Chairman of Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad, a listed media company, and also Chairman of Taliworks Corporation Berhad, a listed infrastructure services company. He also sits on the board of Bangkok Bank Berhad, and is a Partner at Vynn Capital, an early stage Venture Capital firm with investments across Southeast Asia.

He is Chairman and Founding Trustee of Teach for Malaysia (TFM), President of WWF-Malaysoia, Chairman of Cancer Research Malaysia, Chairman of Yayasan Munarah, and is a Trustee of Amanah Warisan Negara (Malaysia's National Heritage Trust). He is Chairman of the Board of Governors of Marlborough College Malaysia, and an International Council Member of Marlborough College, United Kingdom. He Pro Chancellor of a Malaysian public university and director/chairman of two private universities.

He holds a Masters of Public Administration from the John F Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and a BA (Hons) in History and Social & Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge. In addition, he is an Honorary Bencher of the Inner Temple, United Kingdom.

Previously, Tunku Ali was a Consultant with McKinsey & Company and a Director of Investments with Khazanah Nasional Berhad.

Bernise Ang

Chief Alchemist, Zeroth Labs, Singapore

Bernise Ang is Chief Alchemist at Zeroth Labs, a systems innovation lab. They tackle “wicked problems” by supporting developing countries and cities to make sense of the messy underlying system dynamics that make their complex policy challenges the way they are.  Her work at Zeroth Labs involves blending disciplines from anthropology, data science, design, behavioural science, foresight methods and system dynamics in order to bring clarity to complexity.

Besides a previous corporate life in private equity, Bernise also founded a youth development nonprofit Syinc, from which alums have gone on to become Forbes 30Under30 and Ashoka Fellow awardees. In international policy, she co-created processes for the development of civil society policy positions at the UN Commission on Sustainable Development and UNFCCC. Bernise is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum and serves as external faculty at the National University of Singapore on complexity and systems thinking.

Eleni Antoniadou

Healthcare Technical Lead, Asia-Pacific and Japan, Amazon Web Services, Singapore

Dr Eleni Antoniadou is an experienced technology leader in Healthcare and Life Sciences and a legal technical advisor.

As a scientist, Dr Antoniadou has conducted research in the fields of regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, radiobiology and artificial intelligence in the USA and Europe.
She has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the WEF, a Global Leader by the Tallberg Foundation, a Cartier Laureate for the US, a 30under30 by Forbes USA and a European Young Leader by Friends of Europe among others. She has been awarded prestigious fellowships and scholarships based on academic merit such as the Fulbright Scholarship, the National Science Foundation EBICS traineeship, and the BRC-NIHR scholarship to name a few.

Dr Antoniadou holds a PhD in Regenerative Medicine (UCL), an MSc in Bioengineering (UIUC), an MSc in Nanotechnology(UCL), an LLB in Law (UoL), a BSc in Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics(UoT). She has completed executive studies in Sustainability (Stanford), in Intellectual Property Law (SUSS), and in Smart City Design (NTU). She is certified as an expert in Machine Learning and in Solutions Architecting at a professional level.

Paolo Benigno Aquino IV

Co-Founder and President, Hapinoy, Philippines

Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino is the youngest Senator of the 16th Congress of the Republic of the Philippines. In 2003, he became the youngest head of a government agency when, at 25, was appointed as the Chairperson of the National Youth Commission, the primary national policy-making body for Filipino youth. Bam also co-founded the social enterprise Hapinoy, which has received global awards for helping lift poor Filipinos out of poverty through micro-finance and micro-enterprise support. Bam has dedicated his entire career to empowering the youth and the poor, helping thousands of Filipinos improve their lives through access to opportunities and crucial support systems. Because of this work, he was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines in 2010, one of the Asian Social Entrepreneurs of the Year in 2011 and one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World in 2012.

Maria Antonia Odelia Arroyo

Principal and Co-Founder, Ignite Impact Fund, Philippines

Maoi Arroyo is a serial entrepreneur, impact investor, educator, and biologist. In 2018, she became the founder and principal of the Ignite Impact Fund, the first fund focused exclusively on eradicating income and access poverty in the Philippines.

Her entrepreneurship career began when she founded Hybridigm Consulting, the premier and pioneering innovation consulting and commercialization firm in the Philippines. In the last 14 years, the firm has developed policy for the Philippine government, facilitated over $3.5M in biotech investments, trained over 17,000 aspiring entrepreneurs, and created 3,500 jobs.

In addition, she has also co-founded a social enterprise that now supplies pasteurized eggs to 5 major hotels in the Philippines, a fashion brand that upcycles leather jackets into bags, a media company that promotes independent Filipino films, and a property development firm.

Over the last decade, Ms Arroyo has received several honors. She was hailed by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the top 35 entrepreneurs under 35 in 2006, was the youngest PhilDev Foundation USA honoree for her contributions to national development through science and technology (2010). Ms Arroyo is also a 2011 Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) awardee – and the only woman in that year. The TOYM is the most prestigious award given to Filipinos under 40 and is presented by the President of the Republic of the Philippines. In 2013 she was one of the DevEx 40 under 40 International Development Leaders, and selected one of the UK Foreign Commonwealth Office's International Leaders in 2014. She was named as one of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders of 2015 and served on the forum's Global Future Council on SDG Investment from 2020-2022.

Ms. Arroyo is also an adjunct professor at the Asian Institute of Management; where she teaches Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She obtained an MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge, and her first degree in Biology (BS) from the University of the Philippines.

Cherrie Atilano

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Agrea, Philippines

Cherrie Atilano has 26 years of experience in sustainable food systems and inclusive agribusiness as an advocate of women and youth in agriculture, agri-technology, malnutrition eradication and the responsible production and consumption for the future of food. She is a multi-awarded entrepreneur and ambassador on agricultural issues.

Anies Rasyid Baswedan

Founder, Indonesia Mengajar, Indonesia

Named: one of the Top 100 Public Intellectuals, Foreign Policy Magazine (2008); one of the World's 20 Future Figures, Foresight Magazine, Japan (2010); one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims, Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre (2010).

Fridtjof Berge

Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer, Antler Innovation Pte Ltd, Singapore

Fridtjof Berge is the Co-Founder & Chief Business Officer of Antler, the global venture capital firm backing the world’s most driven founders from day zero. Syed Saddiq bin Syed Abdul Rahman

Member of Parliament, Parliament of Malaysia, Malaysia

Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is minister of youth and sports and a member of parliament for Muar, Johore. He is co-founder and youth chief of BERSATU. He is known for being a impressive debater and an advocate of anti-corruption issues. His dedication to engaging youth in politics is a primary feature of his platform.

Bunty Bohra

Partner, Antler Innovation Pte. Ltd., Singapore

V. Bunty Bohra is a partner at Antler (www.antler.co), a global venture capital firm dedicated to empowering and investing in the world's most exceptional founders from the start. He is also chief executive officer of Biologic Pte, an an advisory and investment firm based in Singapore.

Previously, Bunty was chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Services in India. He was responsible for all functions present in the firm’s second largest office as well as integrating functions in Bengaluru and Singapore, in line with the firm's global location strategy. Bunty was a member of the Partnership Committee, Asia Pacific Management Committee, Asia Pacific Capital Committee, Global Recruiting Council, ASEAN Leadership Group, and served on the Pine Street Board of Directors.

Bunty joined Goldman Sachs in 1996 in the J. Aron Currency and Commodities Division, where he traded commodities for four years in New York and London. He spent one year working on the development and launch of IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), before becoming franchise manager of the Commodities and Futures Services business units. Prior to assuming his India role in 2009, Bunty was global head of the Structured Product Syndicate desk in the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Division in New York. He was also co-head of the Structured Finance Group in the Americas, ran warehouse financing, and was a member of the Structured Finance Capital Committee. Bunty was named managing director in 2005 and partner in 2010.

Bunty is a fellow of the Aspen Institute’s India Leadership Initiative, is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, serves on the Advisory Board of the MIT Sloan Finance Group, is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and previously served on the Asia Society Corporate Diversity Council.

Bunty earned dual SB degrees in Chemical Engineering and Management Science from MIT in 1996 and was awarded a certificate of completion for the Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century Program at Harvard Kennedy School in 2016. Additionally he has completed executive education programs at Oxford University and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at National University of Singapore.
