Alaa Murabit

Director, Global Policy, Advocacy and Communications, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USA

A leading security, sustainable development, and global health expert, Dr. Alaa Murabit expertise shapes health and security strategies, policies and resources across 193 countries. Alaa is a UN Sustainable Development Goals Advocate appointed by the UN Secretary-General, the Director of Global Policy, Advocacy, and Communications at the Gates Foundation, and a UN High-Level Commissioner on Health, Employment, and Economic Growth.

At 21, Alaa founded Voice of Libyan Women, sparking a global dialogue on the influence of religious interpretations on women's leadership and security in conflict zones. Her TED Talk has garnered over seven million views, and the New York Times cited it as "defining the future of feminism." Her contributions to global security, health, gender, faith leadership, and sustainability have earned her prestigious recognitions, including the Canadian Meritorious Service Cross, the 2021 Harvard Radcliffe Fellowship, MIT Media Lab Fellow, the Nelson Mandela International Award, and New York Times Hero.

A medical doctor, Alaa is a 2022 World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, serves on the Malala Fund and Women for Women International boards and in her spare time, she moonlights as a personal assistant to her two toddlers.

Billy Wai-Lung Ng

Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China

Professor Billy Wai-Lung Ng is an Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where he leads the Laboratory of Chemical Biology & Drug Discovery. He has successfully used cutting-edge technologies to develop therapeutic molecules for combating viral pandemics and aging-related diseases. Professor Ng and his international team were the first to discover that an approved HCV drug can be repurposed for the treatment of COVID-19. He is currently creating disruptive therapeutic molecules with the ultimate goal to eradicate cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. Professor Ng completed his post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and the University of Oxford after receiving his Ph.D. and B.Sc. in Chemistry from CUHK. He was also a Fulbright Scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) during his graduate study. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Marie Curie Fellowship, Croucher Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship, and Hong Kong PhD Fellowship.

Boris Nikolic

John B. Osborn

Director, Ad Net Zero, USA

John Osborn was recently appointed as the Director for Ad Net Zero (ANZ) in the United States in October, 2022. Originally launched in the UK, ANZ has grown to over 100 supporting companies, and now counts over 50 supporters in the US, which officially launched in early February this year. Under John's leadership, ANZ's mission is to leverage the power of its supporters, alongside the ANA, 4As and IAB, to educate, set benchmarks & standards, measure and take action to lower the carbon emissions associated across all advertising-related operations. Prior to ANZ, John was CEO of OMD in the US over five years from 2017 until August of 2022. John's experience also includes 25 years of service at BBDO, where he was President & CEO for 13 consecutive years prior to joining OMD. John has a wealth of non-profit board experience including the Red Cross of Greater New York, Global Dignity, Police Athletic League, AdCouncil, AAF and more.

Burcu Ozturk

Chief Financial Officer, MLP Saglık Hizmetleri A.Ş., Türkiye

Burcu Ozturk is the CFO of MLP Care, which operates with 30 hospitals and c.18,000 employees, the largest private hospital group in Turkey. Burcu Ozturk graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Political Science and Public Administration and then joined PricewaterhouseCoopers. During her 10 years of service, Burcu worked as a consultant in Mergers & Acquisitions activities of international investors. Burcu was transferred to PwC New York in 2010; where she provided consultancy services as a Director for 2 years. In 2019, Burcu was ranked among the Top 10 “CFO’s Best For Investor Relations” in Medtech&Services, in the global survey by “Extel”. In 2020, Burcu was awarded as the “Best CFO” in both Turkey and EMEA by “Institutional Investor”. In 2018 and 2020, Burcu entered the list of "Turkey's Top 50 CFO” prepared by Fortune magazine. Burcu is a member of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey and works in Access to Finance Group, contributing to the development of women entrepreneur ecosystem. Burcu is a Board member of Turkish Food Banking Foundation. Burcu is an Executive Board Member (responsible from fund development) in “Disaster Platform”, a platform created by +30 NGOs to minimize the effects of disasters in Turkey.

Bhumi Pednekar

Actress, India

After only seven years in the Indian film industry, Bhumi Pednekar has won 26 acting awards, making her one of the best actors the country has ever seen. Through her films, she has aimed at changing society for the better. She has championed representation of women in cinema and fought for gender inclusivity, including batting for the LGBTQIA+ community. Pednekar has earned her place in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Most Impactful People of India in 2018. She runs one of India’s biggest non-profit advocacy platform on climate change, Climate Warrior, which aims to raise awareness of climate change. She is a passionate voice for environmental conservation and has collaborated with organizations and individuals across the globe. The United Nations Development Programme, India, has appointed Pednekar as national advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals and she is also the Goodwill Ambassador of Healing Himalayas, an organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of the Himalayas.

Nicole Schwab

Co-Head, Nature Positive Pillar; Member of the Executive Committee, World Economic Forum, Switzerland

Nicole Schwab is Co-Head of the Nature Positive Pillar at the World Economic Forum, and member of the Executive Committee. In that role she oversees the Forum’s work on the transition to a nature-positive economy, as well as 1t.org, the Forum’s trillion trees platform focusing on restoration and conservation of forest landscapes. Prior to joining the Forum, she served as a consultant and strategic advisor to non-profit organizations focusing on forest and ocean conservation and restoration, including National Geographic Society’s Campaign for Nature. With a scientific and public policy background, she started her career working on health policy in the Andes for the Government of Bolivia and the World Bank, before returning to Europe to become Founding Director of the Forum of Young Global Leaders – which she currently chairs – and co-founding EDGE Certified Foundation, a business certification standard for gender equality in the workplace.
