Matthew Bishop

Member of the Board and Founder, Social Progress Imperative, United Kingdom

Matthew Bishop is a leading writer and social innovator. He spent over 25 years at The Economist, including serving as New York Bureau Chief and other roles including business editor and Wall Street editor. He then led the Rockefeller Foundation's Bellagio Center. Bishop is a co-founder of the Social Progress Index; Catalyst 2030; the SDG-focused initiative, 17 Rooms; and the #GivingTuesday campaign. He was official report author of the G8 Taskforce on Social Impact Investing. He is the co-author of several books, including Philanthrocapitalism: How Giving Can Save the World and The Road From Ruin. He has chaired the WEF Global Agenda Council on Philanthropy and Social Innovation and was honored by the WEF as a Young Global Leader.

Oana Bizgan-Gayral

Member of Parliament, Parliament of Romania, Romania

Oana Bîzgan is a Member of the Romanian Parliament on the Gender Equality Committee, one of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders, a Vital Voices fellow and an ambassador for the international Girl2Leader Campaign, run by the Women Political Leaders Forum. She fights for women’s rights, children’s rights and global social justice.

As a progressive and an independent MP in the General Assembly, she managed to propose and pass ten new bills regarding social justice and equal opportunities. She holds the strong conviction that equal opportunities are the real levers for the sustainable social and economic development of every society, particularly in the midst of the digital revolution we are undergoing. She wants to leverage the power of communities to change people lives for the better, as an MP and furthermore. Her vision is to empower every stakeholder to play hers/his part in ensuring social justice and invest strategically in building up the society we all want to live in. Thor Björgolfsson

Chairman, Novator Partners LLP, United Kingdom

Thor Björgólfsson is a self-styled “adventure capitalist”, who became Iceland’s first billionaire in 2005. Thor began investing in frontier markets in Russia in 1991, founding a bottling company that grew into the Bravo brewing group, subsequently sold to Heineken in 2002. Following that transaction Thor founded Novator Partners in London in 2004, diversifying into telecoms and pharmaceuticals, building a portfolio of business investments.

Today, through his firm Novator, Thor continues to be an active investor in the emerging economies of Europe, South America and India as well as in his native country, Iceland. He also personally invests in cutting-edge sustainability initiatives including Princeville Capital, a fund for growth-stage tech companies focused on positively impacting climate change as well as David de Rothschild’s sustainable brand, The Lost Explorer, which focuses on protecting the heritage and biodiversity of Mexico.

Since 2006, Thor has progressively directed his attention towards the mobile telecommunications sector and Gaming, and his extensive expertise across diverse markets is unparalleled. In 2015 Thor brought this extensive experience to the South American market where he maintains a shareholding in telecoms Mobile operator WOM in Chile and Colombia, with a combined customers of ca 13 million and over 6000 direct employees. WOM has already build the fastest 5G network in LATAM in Chile.

Thor was made a Young Global Leader at the WEF in Davos in the first cohort of that group in 2005 and today serves as a Board Member there, as well as founding the Endowment fund for YGL’s with other alumni
Thor has supported numerous philanthropic causes throughout the years, both in his home country, Iceland as well as in London. Furthermore, Thor has extended his efforts in alternative countries where he has assisted in various projects concerning environmental issues and numerous charitable causes. As well as this, Thor has supported his alma mater, New York University’s Stern School of Business, as well as the Young Global Leaders’ programs so as to assist students and upcoming entrepreneurs from developing nations unleash their potential.

Thor’s autobiography, “Billions to Bust—and Back: How I Made, Lost and Rebuilt a Fortune, And What I Learned on the Way” was published in 2014. A revised edition, "Billions to Bust – and Beyond", is scheduled to launch this year, with an added chapter on his investments and business in Latin America.

Jimena Blázquez Abascal

Director, NMAC Foundation, Spain

Jimena Blázquez Abascal has a PhD on contemporary art and public spaces. Prior to working for the NMAC Foundation, she worked at the Picasso Museum of Paris and for Art Adviser, Marc Blondeau. Since 1999, she has been focusing on the opening and curatorial direction of the NMAC Foundation and has curated more than 40 site-specific art projects by outstanding artists. She has created a platform of creative art and ideas at which artists from all over the world can come to dialogue, particularly between Africa and Europe. In 2003, she became a curator at PS1/MOMA together with Harald Szeemann of “The Real Royal Trip”, one of the biggest exhibitions of young Spanish artists ever presented in the United States and which became a travelling show around Europe. She was also the first curator to introduce the works of Jeppe Hein, Michael Lin, Yael Bartana Marepe and Maja Bajevic to an American audience. Blázquez Abascal has written several books, including a bestseller, "Sculpture Parks in Europe: A Guide to Art ". She is a frequent contributor to international art magazines.

Giulio Boccaletti

Co-Founder, Chloris Geospatial Inc., United Kingdom

Giulio Boccaletti, Ph.D. is an author, entrepreneur, senior executive, and a globally recognized expert on natural resource security and environmental sustainability. He is an Honorary Research Associate in the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at Oxford University and senior fellow at the Euro-Mediterranean Center for Climate Change.
Trained as a physicist and climate scientist, he holds a doctorate from Princeton University, where he was a NASA Earth Systems Science Fellow. He has been a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a partner of the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he was a leader of its sustainability practice, and the chief strategy officer of The Nature Conservancy, the largest environmental organization in the world.
His book Water: A Biography (Pantheon Books) was on The Economist’s list of best books for 2021 and has been translated in multiple languages. He writes on environmental issues for news media and is an expert contributor to the World Economic Forum, which named him one of its Young Global Leaders. He routinely contributes to documentary series: his work on water has been featured in the award winning PBS documentary series H2O: The Molecule that Made Us, and he was series consultant to the PBS/BBC series The Age of Nature.
He is the co-founder of Chloris Geospatial, a venture-backed company that uses remote sensing and machine learning to help companies and institutions put nature on the balance sheet. Chloris Geospatial was recognized as a top innovator in the Carbon Market Challenge of UpLink at the World Economic Forum.

Alexis Bonte

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, eRepublik Labs Ltd, Spain

Alexis Bonte is the Group COO and President NA of Stillfront (Nasdaq traded Games company) where he focuses on operations and co-leads Stillfront's game studios alongside the Group CEO. He also supports the exec team on strategy and M&A. Alexis was previously the CEO of eRepublik Labs the studio he founded and that is part of Stillfront. Within Atomico VC, Alexis sourced investments in Spain and France as well as in the Games and consumer verticals and helped portfolio companies accelerate their growth. Although he is an active angel investor, Alexis has now taken a step back from VC to focus on Stillfront. He also serve on the OhBibi and Tezos Foundation boards where he is now the chairman. Alexis co-founded Chamberi Valley (Madrid entrepreneur's non-profit), is an early pledger in Founders Pledge and was part of the founding team of lastminute.com one of the first European Internet Unicorns.

Geoffrey Bouquot

Chief Technology Officer and Group Vice-President, Corporate Strategy and External Relations, Valeo, France

Geoffrey Bouquot has joined Valeo in December 2015 as Group Vice-President, Corporate Strategy & External Relations.
In June 2020, Geoffrey Bouquot has been appointed Group Senior Vice-President R&D and Product Marketing in addition to his current role.
Since 2014, he was Technical Advisor for Industrial Affairs of the French Minister of Defence.
Previously, he was Chargé d'Affaires of the Aerospace & Defense sector within the French Agency of State Participation (Agence des participations de l'État, APE).
He was also Project Manager Purchasing and Subcontracting within the Latécoère Group, and served as Head of Mission to the CEO of the OCP Group.
Born in 1985, Geoffrey Bouquot graduated from the prestigious Ecole Polytechnique (2005) and the Ecole des Mines de Paris, distinguished for the outstanding performance of its research centers.

Kieron Boyle

Chief Executive Officer, Impact Investing Institute, United Kingdom

Kieron Boyle is the Chief Executive of the Impact Investing Institute, the UK’s national body for impact investing. Its mission is to change capital markets for a fairer, greener economy.

From 2016 to 2023, Kieron was the Chief Executive of Guy's and St Thomas' Foundation, one of the world's oldest health foundations. Through this period, the foundation developed some of the UK’s most innovative and impactful alliances to reduce health inequalities, as well as transformed its £1 billion investment arm into one of Europe's leading responsible and health impact investors.

Kieron was formerly the UK government's chief advisor on impact investment, and prior to that worked in both Downing Street and the Foreign Office. He started his career at the Boston Consulting Group.

Kieron is a Governor of the Southbank Centre, Europe’s largest arts centre; and on the Boards of Big Society Capital and the Design Council. He chairs LIPH — a multi-trillion dollar global alliance of institutional investors working to improve people's health — and the UK's Cultural Impact Development Fund.

Martin Bruncko

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Steam Capital, France

Senior executive and board member in fintech and R&D-based companies, including as EVP for Europe at Binance, founding CFO/CSO at AeroMobil (pioneering flying cars company), and board member in GA Drilling, the global leader in accessing ultra deep geothermal energy.

Previously, founder and managing director of tech investment and advisory firm Steam Capital, member of the investment committee of the European Innovation Council Fund (largest deep tech investment fund in Europe) and the founder and executive chairman of Neulogy.

Senior positions in the Government of Slovakia, including minister for innovations and deputy for European affairs of the minister of finance. Board Member of the European Stability Mechanism and Head of Europe at the World Economic Forum. B.A. from Stanford and M.P.A. from Harvard.

Thomas Buberl

Yana Buhrer Tavanier

Founder and Director, Fine Acts, Bulgaria

Yana Buhrer Tavanier is the co-founder and executive director of Fine Acts, a global nonprofit creative studio for social impact. As a creative activist, she explores human rights innovation at the intersections of activism, art, tech and science. Yana is also the co-founder of TimeHeroes.org, the largest volunteer platform in Bulgaria; and has a background as an award-winning investigative journalist. She has a BA in communication and MA in political science from Sofia University, along with executive education at Harvard University, Yale University, Oxford University, and NTU-Singapore. She is a TED Senior Fellow, a Fulbright Scholar, a WEF Young Global Leader, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and was named one of 50 people who will change the world in WIRED’s Smart List 2012. Her most recent TED talk, viewed close to 2 million times, deals with her concept of playtivism - the importance of creative play and experimentation in activism.

Sinéad Burke

Chief Executive Officer, Tilting The Lens, Ireland

Sinéad Burke is a Disabled educator, advocate and author who champions accessibility, equity and social justice to build a better world for everyone. In 2020, she founded the accessibility consultancy Tilting the Lens on the three pillars of education, advocacy and design. Advising major global brands including Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Netflix, Pinterest and Starbucks, Tilting the Lens guides clients in their move from awareness to action by creating more accessible practices, policies, products and services, places and promotions.
Sinéad serves on Gucci's Global Equity Board, ITV’s Cultural Advisory Council, the Irish President’s Council of State and Ireland’s Future of Media Commission. She is also part of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders, as well as the European Young Leaders. As a passionate writer, podcast host and public speaker, Sinéad facilitates honest conversations about identity, disability and accessibility. Her work has been featured and recognised by Vogue, The Financial Times, Fast Company, WWD, Vanity Fair, The Business of Fashion, and many more. In 2017, she delivered a powerful TED Talk on ‘Why design should include everyone.’ Her children’s book, ‘Break the Mould,’ is a primer on how to take your place in the world – with lessons for all. It won the ‘An Post Irish Book Award’ in 2020.
