Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gnowbe, a pioneering microlearning authoring tool for creators to design engaging and data-driven shared learning experiences for their teams or organizations based on the science of how humans learn and develop. Gnowbe is a spin-off from Awaken Group, a pioneer of transformation design (TD) globally, multi-disciplinary approach to helping companies achieve their objectives by integrating business strategy, leadership and human-centred design. Designs values-based innovative experiences and organizations. Works with individuals to better align what's inside with what's on the outside.

Madhu Kannan

Vice-President; Global Head, Corporate Development, Uber Technologies, USA

Madhu Kannan is currently Vice President & Global Head of Corporate Development at Uber Technologies. In this role he has responsibilities of global M&A, Integration, Treasury, Capital Markets and minority investments, Madhu rejoined Uber in Dec 2023 after a stint at Bank of America Securities where has an Executive Vice Chair of Global Corporate & Investment Banking. His first stint at Uber had included being the Chief Business Officer for Asia Pacific. Madhu also has been a Group Head of Business Development at Tata Sons and Chief Executive Officer of the Bombay Stock Exchange. Other roles he has had included Managing Director in the Corporate Strategy Group of Bank of America-Merrill Lynch and a Senior Vice-President at NYSE Euronext in the listings and Business development functions. He earned his BEng degree (Hons) in electrical engineering and electronics, an MSc (Hons) in economics from BITS, Pilani, India, and an MBA in finance from Vanderbilt University, USA.

Elsie S. Kanza

Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the USA and Mexico, Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in the USA, USA

Elsie S. Kanza is a Tanzanian economist who is Special Adviser to the President of the World Economic Forum (WEF). As the head of the WEF’s regional agenda on Africa and member of the Executive Committee, since 2011 she has led numerous public-private collaboration initiatives to solve complex systemic challenges related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and African Union Agenda 2063. From 2006 to 2011, Kanza served as economic advisor to the President of Tanzania. Between 1997 and 2006, she worked in Tanzania’s finance ministry and its central bank.

Currently a Richard von Weizsacker Fellow, Kanza has been recognized for her achievements in advancing economic development. In 2008, she became an Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellow, and in 2011 a WEF Young Global Leader. In 2020, the magazine Forbes Africa listed her as one of Africa’s 50 most powerful women. She has served on various boards, including those of the African Leadership Institute - South Africa, Mercy Corps Europe, The Nature Conservancy Africa Council, and the Uongozi Institute.

In 2015, Kanza was awarded a Doctorate of Business Administration (honors causa) from the University of Strathclyde for her role in driving transformative impact in Africa. She also holds a MA in Development Economics from the Center for Development Economics – Williams College; a MSc in Finance from the University of Strathclyde; and a BSc (cum laude) in International Business Administration from the United States International University - Africa.

Paul Kapelus

Master's in Social Anthropology, Sussex University, UK. Over 20 years' experience with business in Africa, especially mining, oil and gas companies; specializes in stakeholder relationship management, social risk for investments, conflict resolution, community development and partnership management; works in conflict and conflict prone areas. Member of the board of various non-profit organizations. Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellow. Alumni, Young Global Leaders, World Economic Forum, Board Member of Southern Africultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania.

Shira Kaplan

Founder, Cyverse, Switzerland

Shira Kaplan is the Founder and CEO of Cyverse AG, a Zurich-based cyber-security firm which delivers innovative, hands-on Israeli cyber-security solutions to global and local corporations. Shira’s technological training dates back to her military service in the Israeli 8200 Elite Technology Unit of the Intelligence, where she was an Intelligence and Cyber Analyst. She held business management positions at publicly-traded companies including Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (NASDAQ: TEVA) and Bank Julius Baer & Co. in Zurich (SIX: BAER). Shira is an alumna of Harvard University (B.A.), where she studied Government and Chinese, and was a Shelby Davis Scholar. She holds an MBA from St. Gallen HSG University in Switzerland, where she was awarded the “Women in Business” Scholarship. Shira has won several other awards, including the “Seeds of Peace” scholarship, the Goldman fellowship and the Milken Fellowship. She has been featured in the Financial Times, the Neue Zuercher Zeitung, Bilanz, PwC CEO Magazine and other newspapers. She is mother of 3 Montessori children, and resides by the Lake of Zurich.

Asli Karahan

Chief Investment Officer, Lioness Capital, USA

Asli Karahan is CIO of Lioness Capital, a policy and political event-driven hedge fund based in New York, focusing on developed and large emerging economies, with a US bias. Lioness runs a discretionary thematic portfolio, where each theme is expressed in liquid exchange-traded instruments that include equities (single stocks, ETFs, and equity indices), fixed income, futures, commodities and currencies. Risk management is a core component of the
investment process and is managed at position, theme and portfolio levels. Asli is the former Managing Partner of US Policy Metrics, a policy advisory and research firm for hedge funds. This follows her experience for almost a decade at UBS as Senior Client Relationship Director in the CEO's office, covering the largest client and/or transactions globally, where she developed a rare blend of policy expertise, an ability to analyze complex business problems, and a range of global economic policy and regulatory issues. Asli began her career at Schlumberger International, working in Egypt, India, Venezuela and Trinidad &Tobago. She later worked for Procter & Gamble as a Brand Manager running a flagship brand with US$ 100 million-plus revenue at the age of 25. Ay has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University in Turkey. She holds various financial licenses in the United Kingdom and in United States and is a Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst.

Krithi Karanth

Executive Director, Centre for Wildlife Studies, India

Dr. Karanth is Chief Conservation Scientist and Executive Director at CWS, Adjunct Faculty at Duke and NCBS. She has a Ph.D. from Duke (2008), a M.E.Sc from Yale (2003) with B.S and B.A degrees from the University of Florida (2001). She has also completed executive education courses at Harvard, Oxford, and Stanford. As a scientist, her research in India and Asia spanning 24 years encompasses many issues in the human dimensions of wildlife conservation. She has conducted macro-level studies assessing patterns of species distributions and extinctions, impacts of wildlife tourism, consequences of voluntary resettlement, land use change, and understanding human-wildlife interactions. She has published 100+ scientific and popular articles in English and Kannada. Krithi served on the editorial boards of Frontiers
in Ecology and Environment, Human Dimensions of Wildlife, Conservation Biology, and Conservation Letters. Krithi has mentored over 250 young scientists from India, US, Chile, UK, Australia, Indonesia etc. and engaged 750 citizen science volunteers in her research and conservation projects. As a conservationist, she has designed Wild Seve, Wild Shaale, Wild Surakshe and Adopt a PHC programs.As a storyteller Krithi has collaborated with painters, illustrators, film-makers, and photographers.
Krithi’s conservation and research work has been featured in 3 award-winning BBC Series - The Hunt, Big Cats, and Dynasties, and in documentaries by CBC and PBS. She has co-produced 5 documentaries Wild Seve, Humane Highways, Wild Shaale, Flying Elephants and Wild Surakshe. In 2020 she co-starred with Kevin Pietersen in Save This Rhino: India by Disney Hotstar and National Geographic. She has written a
bilingual children's book with artist Raghava KK and is actively working on various other collaborations with artists.

Krithi is National Geographic Society’s 10,000th grantee and a 2012 Emerging Explorer. Her more than 45 awards and recognitions include the Eisenhower Fellowship, World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, University of Florida’s Outstanding Young Alumnus, INK Fellow, India's Power Women by Femina, Women of the Year by Elle India, Vogue Women of the Year and Seattle Zoo’s Thrive
Conservation Leadership Award. In 2019, she received the WINGS Women of Discovery Award for Conservation, GQ Man of the Year-Environmental Hero, Beyond Duke University Alumni Award for Service and Leadership. She was also chosen as one of the five 2019 Rolex Award for Enterprise Laureates. In 2021, she became the first Indian and Asian woman to be chosen for the Wild Innovator Award and was also selected for the 2021 Aspen Ananta Fellowship and Government of India’s Invest
India Women Achiever. In 2022, she won the 'Varshada Kannadiga' (Kannadiga of the year) award for her contributions to science and technology.

Freshta Karim

Founding Director, Charmaghz, United Kingdom

Freshta Karim is the Founder and Director of Charmaghz, a Kabul-based Afghan NGO dedicated to promoting critical thinking among children through providing resources and space on buses turned into mobile libraries. Prior, she worked at different UN agencies and international organizations and in the President's Office of Afghanistan. Karim studied political science at Panjab University, India, and completed an MA in Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford.

Kola Karim

Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Shoreline Natural Resources, Nigeria

Kola Karim serves as the Group Managing Director/CEO of Shoreline Energy International, a leading investor in the Energy, Infrastructure and Engineering sectors throughout Sub Saharan Africa. Mr Karim’s has steered Shoreline's growth over the last 30 years leading to the company becoming one of the leading independent oil producers in Nigeria with reserves in excess of 1.5bn bbls . Mota Nigeria, a joint venture with Mota Engil is one of the leading construction companies in Nigeria while Shoreline’s engineering subsidiary DBN Energies has over 35 years of leadership within the engineering and EPC sector working exclusively for leading producers including NLNG and TOTAL
Mr Karim serves on the Deans council of Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Mr Karim Serves on the Africa Advisory board of the London Stock Exchange and is a Young Global Leader Award Honoree (2008), a pioneer and an active member of the Global Agenda Council on Emerging Multinationals of the World Economic Forum. He has delivered opinion and position papers at international conferences, investment forums, business schools and universities. Mr. Karim holds an LLM Master of Laws degree. Mr Karim holds the traditional title of Agbaoye of Ibadanland.

Karen Karniol-Tambour

Co-Chief Investment Officer, Bridgewater Associates, USA

Karen Karniol-Tambour is Co-Chief Investment Officer at Bridgewater Associates, responsible for managing the company’s investment process. Karen oversees the systemization of Bridgewater’s research into trading strategies, manages the development of proprietary investment management models, directs the design and implementation of client investment strategies, and publishes timely market understanding to clients and global policy makers via Bridgewater’s Daily Observations. She also co-leads the firm’s Sustainable Investing efforts, overseeing the design of new investment solutions with both financial and sustainability objectives. Karen joined Bridgewater in 2006 after graduating from Princeton University. She serves on the boards of Search for Common Ground and Seeds of Peace. Karen is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, was included in Fortune’s "40 Under 40" most influential leaders in business in 2019, and has been named to Barron's list of "Most Influential Women in US Finance" for three years in a row.

Neema Kaseje

Humanitarian Surgeon and Health Leader, Médecins Sans Frontières, Kenya

Dr Neema Kaseje is an internationally recognized humanitarian surgeon, health leader, and an expert in health systems strengthening serving rural communities and populations affected by conflict including refugees. Her most recent activities focus on deploying innovative health financing mechanisms to achieve universal health coverage in communities that have historically been left behind. She is an expert in building pediatric surgical care delivery with previous experience in Haiti, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Nicaragua, and Liberia. In Haiti, she served as the only pediatric surgeon in the public sector and scaled up pediatric surgical care delivery in the region by training junior doctors. In Liberia, she was part of the Doctors without Borders team that built the first Doctors Without Borders pediatric surgical program. She established the first pediatric operating room in a refugee camp in Kakuma Refugee Camp - a project launched during the Davos 2020 Annual meeting. She has extensive experience deploying innovative health solutions to leapfrog access to lifesaving health services leveraging youth, community health workers (CHWs), and digital technology. In Siaya Kenya, she worked with >1000 CHWs, 200 youth, to complete >300’000 digital household health visits with significant reductions in COVID-19 related deaths. She is the Founding Director of the Surgical Systems Research Group based in Kisumu, Kenya. She is committed to global health equity and achieving health for all by 2030. She was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2017.

Sam Kass

Partner, Acre Venture Partners, USA

Sam led food and nutrition policy for the Obama Administration, and was the Executive Director for First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! Campaign. He was also the chef for the Obamas. Sam is now focusing on the intersection of health, climate change and food systems in numerous ways through strategy work and investing.
