Valeri Chekheria

Chief Executive Officer, Adjara Group Hospitality, Georgia

Valeri has emerged as a key business leader in the region through his innovative approach to implementing modern business values to the Georgian community.

Under his leadership Adjara Group has built a diverse portfolio of internationally renowned hotels and trend-setting new entrepreneurial projects including a large-scale agricultural and farming development initiative in Eastern region of Georgia.

Valeri is a dedicated philanthropist involved in several charitable causes and leads the company’s CSR efforts. He is Chairman of the Board of the Global Compact Network Georgia as well as a board-member of the McLain Association Children.

Prior to taking leadership of the company in 2011 he served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economic Development and the Minister of Finance. Valeri graduated from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs, where he completed a Masters of Public Administration (MPA).

As a recognition of his achievements Valeri was nominated in 2018 by the World Economic Forum as a member of the Young Global Leaders’ program along with 100 of the world’s most promising, business leaders, public servants, technologists, social entrepreneurs and artists.

Jane Marie Chen

Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer, Embrace Innovations, USA

Jane Chen is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Embrace Innovations. Jane started her career as a management consultant at the Monitor Group, where she was advising Fortune 500 companies. Inspired to empower the disadvantaged, Jane then worked in China and Africa with NGOs focused on HIV/AIDS. Jane is a TED Senior Fellow, an Echoing Green Fellow, and a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum. Jane holds an MBA from Stanford University and a Master's in Public Administration from Harvard University.

Sarah Chen

Co-Founder and Managing Partner, The Billion Dollar Fund for Women, USA

Sarah’s career spans across venture capital (VC) and innovation, in Asia and the US. She is Co-Founder of The Billion Dollar Fund for Women, a global consortium of venture funds that have now pledged to invest and are actively deploying beyond $1 billion towards women-founded companies, to begin to address the venture investment gap where women founders receive less than 3% of total VC funding. Going Beyond The Billion, her mission is now to catalyze capital deployed to these venture funds, ensuring their continued capacity to invest- by mobilizing LP commitments, convening LPs and connecting them to GPs who invest in venture-backable companies founded by diverse women founders.

Previously, she pioneered a corporate venture capital unit within $13Bn publicly traded Asian conglomerate, Sime Darby, investing in later-stage biotechnology companies. Since then, she has been at the forefront of multi-million cross border investments, structuring and executing commercialization plans for her portfolio companies. Named Forbes 30 Under 30, she is a recognized speaker and adviser on VC/innovation and women in leadership, having been featured among others on Der Spiegel, the Wall Street Journal, and at the United Nations.

Driven by a mission to fuel women's ambition, power and influence, she currently sits on multiple boards including 131 & counting, a bipartisan effort backed by Bloomberg Government and Holland & Knight to fete the unprecedented number of women serving in the House and Senate in the US and encourage more qualified women to run for office; and Lean In Malaysia, which she co-founded, a platform accelerating women into leadership, recognized as the voice of credibility for professional women issues in Muslim- majority Malaysia. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Laws, LL.B (Hons.) from King’s College London. A proud Malaysian, she spends her time between the US- Asia.

Timothy Chen

CEO, VIA China; Head of Business Development VIA/HTC, HTC, Taiwan, China

Bachelor's in Engineering, University of California, Berkeley. Since 1996, with VIA. Began career at the company's Taiwan headquarters, managing the sales and marketing offices of Japan and Korea. Responsible for VIA worldwide business development and strategic partnerships for VIA Technologies, a leading innovator of PC silicon and platform technologies. Besides presiding over VIA's Global Sales & Marketing, serves as technical assistant to the President and CEO of VIA, Wenchi Chen. Board and advisory positions at a number of technology companies. Involved in social ventures, social media, premium content providers, hardware companies at the semiconductor and system level, faith-based endeavours, a premium winery in China as well as being a hobbyist angel investor.

Calvin Cheng

Chairman, Retech Technology Co., Singapore

Entrepreneur and investor.

Co-founded Chinese EduTech firm Retech, and led it to IPO on the ASX in 2017, in the largest tech float in Australia of that year. Currently Chairman. Co-founded one of world's largest crypto exchanges ABCC.

Formerly shareholder and director of Lumina Singapore, one of region's largest fashion and luxury event management companies, and JUICE Magazine, SE Asia's largest youth and music magazine. Formerly also Head of Elite Model Management for Asia.

Calvin was also an appointed member of Singapore's Parliament.

He graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA (MA) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and an MSc in Management.

Ming Yu Cheng

Professor of Economics; Director, Institute of Management and Leadership Development; Director, Division of Community and International Networking, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia

Cheng Ming Yu is the Director of the Institute of Management and Leadership Development (IMLD), Chairperson of the Belt and Road Strategic Research Centre and Professor of Economics at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in Malaysia. She works on projects related to economic development, particularly on social capital, globalization and human capital development as well as competitiveness studies. Cheng has been a Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Fellowship (JSPS), a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Washington State University, USA, a Research Fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, and Visiting Professor at National Taiwan University. She is one of the principal investigators for the World Value Survey (WVS) in Malaysia, a Member of the DAAD Alumni Association, one of the BMW Foundation Young Leaders, Executive Secretary of ABEST21 Japan and an alumna of the “Building a Better Asia-Young Leaders Retreat” organized by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Japan. Cheng is also the Founding Curator of the Kuala Lumpur Hub of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Community.

Serene Chen Huijing

Managing Director, Deutsche Bank, Singapore

Huijing Serene Chen is one of the youngest senior financial market leaders globally. Chen is responsible for the fixed income and currencies business for clients in Asia Pacific at Deutsche Bank. A regular speaker at global conferences, she has been a driving force behind the innovation and digitization of market risk and technology solutions to help client organizations unlock value and increase efficiencies. Chen is a leading advocate for women in business and has been instrumental in supporting women’s leadership in the industry, actively working to help empower, mentor and build confidence in women.

Chen Man

Founder, Beijing Man Xiang Ya Tian Advertising Ltd, People's Republic of China

Chinese contemporary photographer and visual artist who created a unique visual language that revolutionized fashion photography in China. The first ever photographer to be invited to the Met Ball. Artworks have been exhibited around the world, one of which, "The Astronaut", was selected as the permanent collection at the Victoria & Albert (V&A) Museum in the UK. From 2003 to 2007, during the phase of cover shoot for magazine, developed a brand new "Chen Man Style" of visual expression, which marked the beginning of her creative works. Her powerful visual language attracted immediate attention throughout the fashion media industry and inspired a great number of fashion photographers in China and abroad. 2016, Guest Lecturer, UPenn Wharton China Summit, Harvard China Forum and Young President Organization Forum. 2016, Director, Creative Artists Agency. In September 2016, collaborated with The Peninsula Hotels for The Peninsula In Pink collection. Artworks have been exhibited and auctioned for charity around the world.

Chew-Seow Chien

Partner, Bain & Company, Singapore

BA in Economics and MPhil (Hons) in Finance, Cambridge University; MBA, Harvard Business School. Since 1995, with Bain & Company: since 2007, current position; worked with global consumer products companies and clients in technology, financial services, retail, private equity and heavy industries sectors; experience in US and Asia including corporate portfolio strategy, full potential growth strategy, acquisition screening and due diligence, post merger integration, supply chain management.

Francesca Chia

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, GoGet, Malaysia

Francesca Chia is the Co-Founder and CEO of GoGet, an on demand workforce technology platform that connects businesses to trust and reliable part timers, called ‘GoGetters’. Francesca is pushing boundaries in the technology industry and the traditional labour market of Malaysia. She brings with her insights on the future of work, how businesses will adjust models to suit new labour requirements and how empowerment is possible through technology innovation. Francesca graduated with a BA in Economics from Northwestern University and was inspired by social enterprises because they redefined traditional ways of doing business and running a non-profit. Prior to launching GoGet, Francesca was a Management Consultant in The Boston Consulting Group for 4 years. GoGet was also invited as a one of the selected ASEAN start up to speak in the World Economic Forum, Hanoi 2018 to discuss the Future of Work. Francesca is also an Alibaba eFounders Fellow from the program jointly created between Alibaba and UNCTAD. Most recently, Francesca was invited to speak at a summit in conjunction with United Nations General Assembly 2019 about the platform and how it is specifically addressing the Sustainable Development Goal #8: To promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive.

Calvin Chin

Formerly worked in various entrepreneurial and leadership roles in education, banking and technology start-ups in New York, Silicon Valley and Shanghai. Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Qifang, China's leading online student loan service and the first Chinese company recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer. Social Innovation Park Fellow. Adviser, lecturer and mentor to students, entrepreneurs and start-ups on strategy, fundraising and social responsibility, social innovation and social entrepreneurism. 2009 Chinese Business Leader of the Year, Horasis and Baker & McKenzie.

Geraldine Chin Moody

Director and Co-Founder, 5HVC Capital, Australia

Geraldine cares deeply about creating a strong, sustainable and inclusive community and environment for current and future generations. She draws on her experience as a senior executive and board member across ASX-listed companies, professional services, early-stage businesses and not-for-profits to drive impact within her sphere of influence. Her senior leadership roles have included Group Executive Committee roles at Virgin Australia and ASX with responsibility for people, culture and sustainability, and Chief Operating Officer at Baker McKenzie. She started her career as a solicitor and strategy adviser to the CEO at Mallesons.

Her passion for climate action and business as a force for good has led her to the role of Non-Executive Director of Future Super and co-founder of 5H Values Capital which invests in and coaches early-stage and impact-driven businesses and leaders. 5H Values Capital operates on the belief that leaders who are Humble, Honest, Happy, Hungry and High-Performing will build and grow successful organisations that are a force for good.

Geraldine is also an Advisory Board member of the ANU’s Centre for Asian-Australian Leadership, Welcoming Australia and the WEF’s Forum of Young Global Leaders and adviser to Give InKind and Tribute Mentorship. She has also served on the Board of UN Women Australia, the Refugee Advice and Casework Service and the AHRI Inclusion & Diversity Advisory Panel. She also founded the first Global Shapers community in Australia.

Geraldine has a Master of Law from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Law (Hons) and Bachelor of Science from the Australian National University. She is in her final semester of her Master of Science in Coaching Psychology at the University of Sydney. She is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum (2011), a Fulbright Scholar (2001) and was named NSW Telstra Young Business Woman of the Year (2006).
